I think it was really helpful. We had the opportunity of having very deep conversations and opening our hearts even more, we cried, we laughed, we told experiences of each other that we didn’t know before. I think it helped me to understand in a better way my future husband’s heart and from where he comes from and how I can love him and to understand him in a better way. I really liked all the topics the course offered. They were precise and very necessary.

This course helped me to understand that marriage is definitely about love = a decision, you decide to love your loved one every single day, with his good parts, his wounds, his failures, fears, hopes, dreams, everything. And I really want to support my husband and to love him every day of my life, until my last breath.

I strongly recommend this course (I’ve talked about this course to all my friends), and would tell the couples that it is very necessary to have these kinds of conversations not only for a pre-matrimony course, but as part of the discernment to the married life and the sacrament itself as a couple while you are still dating. It was very useful and helpful to use since we have a long distance relationship (I am from Ecuador, he is from South Africa). It was hard when it said “Hold hands,” but we found our ways for having that connection despite the distance, and I think it helped a lot because maybe our bodies were not close but our hearts felt closer than ever.

Matrimony is not a fairytale of a white dress and a party; it is taking the cross as Jesus did, with your spouse, and loving despite everything, and helping the other one to arrive to Heaven. This sacrament is similar to the Eucharist; it is a real communion but between 3: Christ, Husband and wife. This sacrament is and has to be the reflection of God’s love in this earth, as my father used to say: Matrimony it’s the only “walking sacrament”, because the couple itself IS the sacrament, and as we walk we have to show to the rest of the world how good is the Lord and how much he loves us for real, through our actions and being merciful as our heavenly Father is merciful. – María

The course was really enjoyable. We often went off track and shared stories about our past which we didn’t know about each other yet. I have never done guided conversations before and I would’ve been a bit skeptical about the concept, but all the conversations were really good and organized really well and it was actually very natural. It helped us make a lot of progress and definitely helped us prepare well for our marriage next month.

The conversations helped us to talk about a lot of important topics in more depth. We’ve already talked about a lot of the topics before, but the guided conversations really made us go into the topics in a LOT more depth we would not have reached otherwise and probably saved us getting into arguments/conflicts/misunderstandings during our matrimony, so thank you for that!

The course also helped me to realize the heights I need to strive for in loving my soon-to-be-wife, and that there is a lot I need to improve on. I’d definitely recommend this to other couples, because the course far exceeded my expectations and it is arguably better than most in-person marriage preparation courses available in the world. Thank you for everything! – Terblanche
