I feel like this Pre-Cana course was a good thing for us to go through. We got to share feelings and talk through some thoughts and ideas that we may not otherwise discussed. We are both older, have children of our own, are widowed, and have done pre-Cana before. We have known each other for over 40 years. So, we thought we wouldn’t learn anything new, but we actually did! I would recommend this course, especially being online, and it allowed us to do it in our own time and satisfy the Catholic church requirement. – Laurie
Dear Rev. Frank, thank you for developing this on-line Pre-Cana program. Laurie and I are not your “usual” couple, I am 65 and Laurie is 63. We each lost our spouses to cancer and questioned if we would find love again. We have known each other for almost 50 years. At first, we questioned the value of completing a Pre-Cana class in these circumstances. However, going through the videos, worksheets and discussion topics, I (and Laurie too) found it very beneficial and critical for our marriage preparation. Given our circumstances, some of the worksheet topics were very valuable for us to complete, some were not as relevant. One example was having and raising a family and those relating to parents. Both of my parents and Laurie’s father are in their heavenly homes. However, I found all to be structured to be thought and dialogue provoking.
