Pre-Cana Couple Reviews
With over 700 satisfied couples completing our Pre-Cana Online Course, we thought you might like to hear what some of them have to say. The couple reviews below are just a sampling of the ones that we’ve received. It’s been an honor to serve them and help them as they begin their journey as married couples!

Ingrid and Van
It is a meaningful and very engaging experience, despite being conducted virtually. It created a space for honest conversations. What I found most enjoyable was the opportunity to pause and intentionally reflect on our relationship. The guided discussions helped us rediscover each other in deeper ways, even across the distance. What proved most helpful in preparing for marriage was how the program addressed real-life aspects of married life. It encouraged us to understand each other’s perspectives and approach differences with patience and respect.
The structure of the sessions also allowed us to process topics at our own pace, making the experience both practical and personal. For other couples, especially those in long-distance relationships, we would strongly recommend approaching Pre-Cana not just as a requirement, but as an opportunity. Be fully present, be honest, and don’t rush through the sessions. The more intentional you are with the process, the more you will gain from it. – Ingrid
I would recommend that every couple who will prepare for marriage should take the pre-cana, this experience has a lot of personal discussions that Ingrid and I have to talk, learn and to carry on after marriage. The sessions helped us deepen our bond and prepared us in our journey ahead. – Van

Rose and Benjamin
I found this course to be very helpful! It was a great aid to communicating things that we wouldn’t otherwise have the words for. It was a space to learn about each other and develop our skills, but in a low-pressure and fun way, since there was no ‘inciting incident’ to bring it about. I think it was an excellent faith resource to build together as well- including a prayer at the end of each session was wonderful.
This Pre Cana course was an enjoyable experience for me. I wasn’t totally sure what to expect going in, but I was hopeful that it would bring Ben and I closer together, and I was right! Most of the topics we have discussed throughout our relationship, but it was nice to revisit these topics. Most of all, what I appreciated about the course was that it reminded me what this is all about. Wedding planning is a lot, and I think it’s easy to forget that this season isn’t about planning one day. It’s about planning and preparing for our life together. – Rose
I can confidently say that I thoroughly enjoyed the process of completing our Pre Cana. I found each conversation to be not only very beneficial to our relationship but also to myself, personally. Rose and I turned each conversation into its own little “date night”, which made it feel less like work and more like an activity or an experience. And that’s what it was; at its core it was work on our relationship and preparing ourselves for our union with God and each other, but it was also a very enjoyable activity.
I am an athlete as well as a coach of athletes and because of this I often think of goals or achievements in two categories: process goals and results goals. Process goals are like hey let’s get 100 miles in this week and lets stay healthy and happy while doing it. Results goals would be let’s use that training to win this race. Anyways, I say all of this to say that I really enjoyed both the process and the results and I think that Rose and I really nailed both the process and the results of this whole endeavor. I enjoyed the process so much that I would really like to continue on with activity date nights like this in the future.
I also think it really helped both of us to have a better understanding of how this partnership includes our Lord. It also helped us with questions about what our roles are as husband and wife, in God’s eyes. At the end of the day, it made me think in terms of percentages… Each of us are 100% a person and everything we do can be measured in the way of “oh i’m probably 90% good at that, out of 100%. I personally may only be 10% good at cleaning, but I’m 92% good at fixing car issues.
Through marriage, Rose and I are no longer working in a percentage out of 100%, but now we each have 200% because we are one and we are a team! We are together and together we are stronger, especially when we are walking in God’s path. I am definitely going to tell people to partake in this course! Even if you’ve already been married for 30 years, I think you could find a lot of value in this course. As I stated earlier, I found so much value in this that I want to continue these practices throughout the life of our marriage! Thank you Rev. Frank for providing such a wonderful place for us to learn and grow in our faith and as a couple! – Benjamin

Taylor and Michael
I thoroughly enjoyed this class. We made date nights out of it as we went through each section. I enjoyed hearing Tyler’s answers and comparing our different points of view and thoughts. This course prepared me for the Sacrament of Marriage by enlightening me to the fact that God will always be at the center of our lives and our marriage. It is important that no matter what happens, we turn to God and always include him in our marriage. I would highly recommend this class to other couples. We had a lot of fun and it helped us learn more about one another. – Taylor
I found the class to be enjoyable and insightful. It helped us open up as a couple and discuss feelings and scenarios that hadn’t yet come up. This class also prepared us for the sacrament of marriage and the important role that God plays in it. I would highly recommend this course to other couples getting married. – Tyler

Herminia and Michael
This course was great! With Michael’s unpredictable work schedule and us not having anyone to watch our children, we were able to get it done within a reasonable time period. I feel like this course has truly helped my partner and I understand what marriage is truly about. This course has brought me closer to my partner on a deeper level. I have talked to many family members about how I feel that everyone should do this course if they plan on getting married. I have also explained to them that having God as their foundation will give them a strong, beautiful, and unbreakable marriage. I know that Michael and I will have an everlasting marriage and that with God we will overcome any obstacle. – Herminia
I truly enjoyed going through the PreCana course as it allowed my future spouse, Herminia, and I to have open ended questions and understand the struggles and traumas that we had and are trying to overcome. This course I would highly recommend it to people, as it allows taking the time to understand one another in a deeper level. It allowed us to discuss the future and how we plan on proceeded forward down our religious path and with GOD in our lives. Compared to other courses, the price was reasonable and it worked with our schedule, allowing us to complete it at our own pace. – Michael

Lydia and Graham
I found this course to be very helpful! It was a great aid to communicating things that we wouldn’t otherwise have the words for. It was a space to learn about each other and develop our skills, but in a low-pressure and fun way, since there was no ‘inciting incident’ to bring it about. I think it was an excellent faith resource to build together as well- including a prayer at the end of each session was wonderful.
The main thing that this course has brought to my attention is how much we are going to be a unit– a unit with each other, and when facing the world. We have each other’s backs over friends, family, and ourselves. There will always be one of us there to support the other, both supported by God’s grace. I would tell other couples to take their time and enjoy the conversations- try to tie them back to previous experiences or what you witness/ed in your parent’s marriage. There is always going to be more to learn, but this is a fantastic place to start. – Lydia
I found this course to be quite useful. A lot of the things discussed in this course we had already previously discussed several times, but there were a couple helpful things about the course that changed those conversations. First was setting aside a specific time to have the conversation, with preparation time to allow both sides to clearly communicate what they want to say.
Second was having it in writing for future reference. Third, while we had previously discussed most things, there were still many things that hadn’t occurred to us to discuss. I think the most useful of the conversations was the issues one, which allowed us to slow down and tackle it methodically and as a team. I’m very much looking forward to being a team for the rest of our marriage. Overall, I would recommend this course to couples who are going to get married or are already married, anyone looking to understand their partner better. – Graham

Megan and Michael
We are so grateful for this experience and for being able to do this at our own pace. Thank you for this helpful and spiritual guide to marriage. This experience allowed me to understand myself better and my future husband. I was able to reminisce on enjoyable moments we’ve had and also ponder about what our future will look like together. I also felt like this experiences allowed us to engage in meaningful conversations about topics we may not have even talked about before. I gained true insight on the value of marriage and what it takes to have a successful one. – Megan
This has not only been an enjoyable experience, but a spiritual one. We did not know what to expect, but we are so happy we did this. We enjoyed that this was an experience that not only took effort but also took time. We knew that marriage was going to be work and a commitment not only to ourselves but also to God. We are closer now that we did this. Thank you. – Michael

Venice and Christopher
Grateful for our Pre-Cana Online experience! It truly prepared our hearts and minds for the Sacrament of Matrimony. It allowed us to discuss our future life together honestly and deeply. Most importantly, it taught my fiancé and me the true meaning of marriage: the sanctification of each spouse and the reflection of Christ’s love for one another. I enjoyed every part of the course and I highly recommend this wonderful program to every couple preparing for marriage. – Venice
We’re very thankful for Fr. Frank and Pre-Cana Online. My fiancée and I are going through the immigration process, and doing wedding preparation in person is impossible for us. Each of the 10 sessions were very insightful to our relationship and helped us discuss things we never would have discussed otherwise. We feel very prepared for matrimony and are grateful for this resource! – Christopher

Paulina and Branden
I enjoyed the whole process because it helped us have deep conversations that are needed before marriage and it helped us be more understanding and learn how to discuss topics in a respectful manner. I would recommend other couples complete this course and apply it for the rest of their lives. – Paulina
I thought this course was very enjoyable and informative. It allowed us to really connect and have deep conversations that may seem a bit uncomfortable but very worth it in the end. I recommend all couples try this course because it can be applied throughout the entirety of the marriage and it has very good principles on how a partner should treat each other. – Branden

Jenna and Jacob
I thought this experience was very eye-opening. Some of these conversations happen in passing, if at all, so it was really helpful to be prompted to sit down and have these open conversations. I really liked that the course encouraged us to get in a comfortable setting, hold hands, pray and really talk. I’ve actually already sent some of these questions to my married friends to encourage them to have these same conversations. Although some of these were difficult to talk about, it’s really important to get together and see what page each of us is on so we know which topics might be a challenge in the future and which we are already on the same page about.
None of these topics should come as a surprise to couples but they are not always openly discussed in depth before marriage. I learned that there will be ups and downs, challenges, and disagreements on certain topics throughout our lifetime and that’s okay. What is important is how we get through it together and that both opinions matter. – Jenna
Even though some of the questions were redundant, I understand why they were asked multiple times. Marriage is a long-term commitment and issues / topics that were discussed through this course often get overlooked. It’s a free, safe space to discuss how you feel and what you wish to accomplish together as a married couple. – Jacob

Hanna and Nolan
I thought this process was a great way to get Nolan and I away from the craziness of planning the wedding and back on what the root of marriage truly is. It was great sitting down and spending quality time together discussing faith and our future. I think doing this together helped us be present in what the topic was and how we felt about them. We have been together for just under six years, so a lot of these topics we have previously discussed, but depth was needed. We enjoyed the beginning sessions as well because it reconnected feelings we had from very early on. It was sweet. I would tell other couples that this process was beneficial and it being self-paced help us create little date nights out of the process! – Hanna
I think this process was very helpful for us to discuss anything that we might not have thought about discussing as well as to see how much our answers to questions align or where we may differ in opinions. It was also important to see where we may have differed in our past or with how we were raised. I thought this course was very enjoyable to do together. This course has definitely helped me understand that marriage is not only about our devotion and commitment to each other but also to God and the Church. To other couples, I would say make sure you take the PreCana activities seriously and you take time to answer everything honestly and discuss everything thoroughly with your partner! – Nolan

Samdisha and Javier
This was an excellent course! Being a non catholic, I feel really privileged and blessed to have this excellent tool before we get married to have explored what the sacrament of marriage is really about and what it entails. I love that it has provided us with such great tools for us to improve our communication and set us up for so much success. Doing this course really allowed us to be closer to one another and get to know each other in a different depth. It has opened so many layers of beautiful conversations and allowed us to be more intentional with one another and look forward to so many wonderful things that come from the gift of marriage and starting our lives as one.
It has also taught me the importance of being mindful of my partner’s individual needs and taught me more in depth what his mindset is like and where he is coming from. I loved doing the guided conversation about children, issues, doing my part, money, and family as it opened up so many great conversations with each other about what our goals are and how we can show up for one another by supporting our families, financial goals and how we decide to raise our kids together. Doing this course affirmed even more how perfect my partner is for me and how lucky I am to have picked a partner who aligns with my values, beliefs, aspirations and faith in my life! – Samdisha
This was such a wonderful way of being intentional about our marriage and talking about many topics in depth in which we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do even years down the line. Going through this course prepares us to act as a team for all that comes with marriage and working through life together as a couple. What was so enjoyable was hearing each others responses to each guided conversation and it taught us so much about one another that we did not consider or even think about.
This course has taught us a lot about one another and prepare us for all that comes with the Sacrament of Marriage to be able to go through life being each others biggest advocate supporter and be servants to one another. It has set us up with so much success with the rules of resolving conflicts. It also provided us with the tools for the future such as the anniversary and conversation dates worksheet for us to be able to have great communication and strengthen our bond continuously. I would recommend this course to every couple as it really teaches you all that marriage entails. It provides us with tools to guide us and allow us to improve our communication as that really is the foundation of an incredible marriage which we pray to have. – Javier

Maria and Joseph
Throughout my experience with Pre-Cana, I felt that I gained more knowledge of myself, Joseph & our relationship as a whole. This experience was something truly beautiful that brought us closer. We looked forward to each session and getting to be in our most vulnerable states together. For me, I enjoyed “Children & Money” the most. Both of these sessions helped us talk about our future together & what we need to do in order to make sure we will be successful and how we will handle hardships. This course has definitely prepared me for the Sacrament of Marriage.
I feel closer to God now than I did prior to this course. It helped me think about how I will be a great wife to Joseph, how I will be a better communicator and how to be more open and honest in our marriage. When discussing this to other couples, I will tell them to go into this with an open mind and heart. To be vulnerable during this experience, listen to your partner and what they are saying, and to take as much in as possible. I would also recommend completing this slowly like we did so we could be fully present and enjoy every session to its fullest. – Maria
Through my experience with Pre-Cana I feel that this brought us closer together as a couple as we enjoyed doing each one and looked forward to doing them as well. I think we hit all of the key points to protecting our relationship as time will pass by. It is important to me that we must always communicate through any obstacle that comes our way, which we know is inevitable. We are a team and it will always be me and her against the problem rather than me vs her. Team work makes the dream work. I feel that keeping God in our life will always bring us closer together. I believe that God already did his part by putting her in my life and giving me the greatest blessing. It is up to us to hold each other accountable and always push through the obstacles that comes our way. This exercise was very helpful to us and it touched many important parts. – Joseph
Janelle and Mike
What was most helpful for me was how the course made us slow down and talk through the parts of marriage that can quietly create stress if you avoid them, like communication, money, family boundaries, faith, and how we’ll share responsibilities at home. I enjoyed that it felt like we were building something together, not just answering questions. It contributed to my understanding by reminding me that our vows are meant to shape how we treat each other in everyday life. To other couples, I’d say be honest and take your time. – Janelle
What was most helpful for me was that it gave us a structure to have conversations we might have put off otherwise. I enjoyed that it wasn’t just about feelings, it pushed us to think about habits, decisions, and how we’ll handle challenges as a unit. It contributed to my understanding by reminding me that this is more than a commitment to each other but also to God. To other couples, I’d say take it seriously and actually talk through the questions together because it helps you start marriage more united. – Mike

Nataly and Nick
Participating in the pre-cana course was an invaluable experience. Many of the questions led us to deeper conversations about topics that either we’ve already talked about at some point in our relationship but with less detail or in other cases were ones that we had never touched upon until now. This course allowed us to learn even more about each other, such as during our conversation about the deeper view we have on our parents and the role they play in our lives individually and as a whole.
In fact, we often found ourselves going on tangents into related topics and it really allowed us to connect with each other on a deeper level. Overall, this course truly allowed Nick and I to grow even closer to each other and love and respect each other even more. This experience paved a clear understanding of the future that we have ahead of us and the commitment we are making as we are not only promising each other but also God of the love and support we will always share as we become one. I believe all couples should take this course if they want to build a deeper connection with their partner and God. – Nataly
This course was excellent in developing new and organic conversations between my fiancé and I. It wasn’t just the questions on each PDF, but it led us to more thought and more questions each time. You can easily go off on tangents which I loved. It would start with us sharing our thoughts from the PDF to realizing we spent the last 20 minutes on one question talking about a new relevant topic. Simply put, this was very helpful and enjoyable.
One item I am particularly looking forward to is reviewing the information we wrote down in the future. I think we can look back on this and reflect on our answers to see how true or swayed we come from everything we wrote prior to our wedding date. I do want to add that the inclusion of two guided conversations at the end to be completed in the future are also great additions to the course.
Staying true to the Sacrament of Marriage is important and not only viewed on your wedding day. It’s the future that follows that is important and the guidance of this course reflected this. I would tell other couples – The online Pre-Cana course offers flexibility to tailor to the needs of any couples seeking the Sacrament of Marriage. The course connects you to God while bringing you closer to the person you love. My fiancé and I were able to have strong conversations that developed into something even deeper than what was listed in each session.
I would also like to express both our pleasures in the flexibility this online course offered. What began as a small route to a civil wedding in a courthouse changed to a dreamt about small intimate wedding with the shadowing and presence of God. My mom helped us make this possible by asking a simple question to Father Valdi after her Bible study – “Have you ever done a trilingual marriage?” One thing led to another and now we graciously have the pleasure of getting married at my home Parish. Thank you again for everything Reverend Frank. – Nick

This course strengthened my understanding of the Sacrament of Marriage and reminded me that it’s not just a day, but a lifelong commitment grounded in faith and love.
I would definitely recommend the course to other couples. If you commit to the course work and are vulnerable with your conversations, you will leave the course ready to take on all the challenges you may face in life with your partner. It was truly a remarkable experience and helped us grow in ways we did not think were possible – John

Maria Emma and Bernardo

Charmagne and Sherwin
I have learned a lot about marriage preparation with the help of PreCanaOnline. This course has been helpful because me and my husband know nothing about wedding preparation, it is not the same compared to our civil wedding, in which there is nothing much to prepare for. With Catholic wedding, it made us look back from our roots, the importance of our family of origin and how our parents’ marriage and relationship has impacted our minds. PreCanaOnline has enlightened us about its purpose, the Catholic way of marriage preparation.
This course has guided us on topics and conversations about handling finances, origin of family, religious values and strengthening our romantic and spiritual relationship by making God, the center of our marriage. This course has made me realize that the physical wedding preparation is not something to worry about. I have learned that the life after the wedding is the most important thing we should focus on, because this is the key for the success of our marriage. – Charmagne
PreCanaOnline has helped me and my wife in the midst of chaos due to wedding and planning preparations. This online course has helped us save a lot of time and money because we have watched the online courses and discussed it in the comfort of our home. The topics that were discussed has covered all of our questions in mind. We have also learned a lot of things and factors that we should consider and learned before getting married. The courses have made me know more about my partner and we have talked about things that we need to give importance to proper communication, finances, family roots, proper delegation of household chores and how to keep our love burning through intimacy.
Also, this course has made us realize that it is important to strengthen our spiritual beliefs which will strengthen the foundation of our marriage. While our wedding will be a beautiful day, PreCanaOnline will surely help us navigate our marriage by being grounded in faith, grace and equipped us with skills we need to truly last a lifetime commitment. – Sherwin

Megan and Robert
This course was extremely helpful for us to revisit conversations that we have had throughout the course of our relationship. I found it very enjoyable to discuss our feelings, thoughts, and values. The prompts allowed for me to feel extremely connected to Robert and to feel new in our relationship again, as we had many of these conversations in the beginning of our relationship. The course helped to deepen my understanding of the sacrament of marriage, as well as my understanding of myself and Robert.

This course allows for those doors to be opened, or re-opened, and reminds us to keep God at the center of everything, including our relationships with each other. – Meg
This whole course was super helpful! Meg and I have been doing a lot of relationship work on our own both before and after deciding to get married – we’ve read interactive books together, had lots of deep conversations similar to the ones in this course, and have been going to couple’s therapy on our own for some time now. I like that this course mirrored and supported a lot of those activities, as they have been fundamental to the growth, maintenance, and closeness of our relationship. We enjoyed the talks that the course encouraged us to have and the relevant questions contained in each of the assigned conversations. As such, these conversations stimulated our minds and reinforced the sanctity and gravity of the promises that we are and will be making to one another and the importance of the Sacrament of Matrimony uniting this whole experience.
To other couples, I would say that this course requires a good deal of work, which is important, because relationships require lots of work. Therefore, having these meaningful conversations and forcing yourselves to look inward in order to be soft and vulnerable with one another, as this course encourages you to do, will always benefit your relationship and your marriage. Thank you, again, for offering this course and being part of our Marriage journey! – Robert

Even with the more difficult topics, in the past it has been hard to open up with these types of topics, but I felt we both had a much easier time discussing those with each other throughout with the help of this course. I would 100 percent recommend this course to other couples. – Chelsea

I especially appreciated the guided discussions around communication and shared values—it encouraged us to talk openly and honestly about topics we hadn’t deeply explored before. I found it grounding and heartening to learn how our faith connects to the practical aspects of building a life together. – Shauna
I enjoyed how the course created space for meaningful conversations about our relationship, faith, and future together. It reminded me that marriage is both a commitment and a continual act of love, one that’s strengthened through understanding and shared purpose. The real benefit for me was the opportunity to see our partnership through a spiritual lens, which added depth to what we already share. – David

Paige and Kyle
I found this course very helpful as it allowed us to complete the course at our own pace in the comfort of our home and when we were able to. This course brought up important conversations I was glad we both had before our wedding. I really enjoyed the issues portion because I feel like we were able to really discuss an issue we keep having that we both want to resolve and we both feel hopeful we will fix it and move forward. This course helped me understand and prepare for marriage because it strengthened my belief in how important and holy this sacrament is and that it is not just some sort of contract or just a party. I would tell other couples that I highly recommend this course because like I said it was so nice to do it on our own time and take as long as we want discussing topics. Some topics would even lead to conversations the following day. – Paige
I found this course helpful because I was able to talk to Paige about important topics that we have discussed in the past but it was nice to really have deeper and longer conversations about them. This course made us go into our wedding week with even more excitement because we see how much we really love each other. I have always been the most excited for the ceremony at the church but now I am even more so because a wedding is way more than a 1 day party it’s truly a promise that you make to one another in front of God. I would tell other couples this course was great especially because we were able to do it when we could and when we wanted. For me, I drive a lot for work so it was nice we were able to talk about some topics or continue the discussion while I was driving on the phone. This course was very convenient. – Kyle

Vanessa and Antonio
I really loved taking this course! Not only did it help us understand the true meaning of marriage, but I feel it really did bring us closer together. One of my favorite parts was how this course guided us to have the difficult conversations, how to talk things out and listen to each other carefully and find a solution that works best for both of us. To always respect each other and never give up on one another.
If I could tell anything to other couples taking this course, it would be to make sure you are open and honest about everything for the best possible outcome. I would also suggest taking the course again in the future, I know we intend to. I think if married couples take this course again all throughout the marriage it will keep their marriage strong and help their connection. – Vanessa
What I found most helpful was the questions or thoughts that came about that I had not yet thought about in the first place. There were many sections that make you question, “How would I do this?” Or, “What would be the best manoeuvre for this situation?” The best part of the course is thinking of what I learned from my experiences while living with my parents. Their marriage left many examples on how to do things the right way. Their lessons on the church were profound as well. This sacrament is a shared one between man, woman, church, and God. One of the more social ones yet maybe one of the most powerful considering how many bonds are present.
This course drove home a lot of core details and values I already held dearly to my spirituality. The sections on household, children upbringing and the jobs or responsibilities parents have couldn’t have been more spot on. For future couples this course was a breeze with how open conversation was and the knowledge obtained or remembered from life lessons gathered in a Catholic upbringing. I did the courses in sections per night and found it most enjoyable to do it like class work but it’s something that I’ll reference in the future in my marriage without question. – Antonio

Maria and Eric
I really enjoyed and benefited a lot from this experience. It really gave us an insight into all the conversations we needed to have. It made us talk to each other and made us realize we could always improve ourselves. It helped me realize what a good Catholic marriage consists of and made me hopeful that we could work towards it. I really liked that we could do it at our own pace and no pressure from others if it were in person. I would definitely recommend it to other couples. – Maria
Dear Rev. Frank, the videos and the prompts for me and my wife to go through and talk about with each other really opened our eyes and brought us closer. These conversations really allowed us to speak our minds without getting upset or mad at each other; but instead, showed us the problems and issues we were hiding or were difficult to talk about. This experience really did help us learn more about each other, understand each other and accept one another. We may not be perfect, but by having this experience we will always try and better ourselves for each other and our children. Thank you, Reverend Frank! – Eric

Juliet and Emmanuel
The course has been so wonderful and helpful for our relationship. Through this course and the different exercises, we were able to address ongoing issues and discuss important topics that we have avoided, like Money. The course shared some very important tools that I do hope to practice and believe will go a long way for the longevity and health of our marriage. I particularly loved the course on natural family planning. Additionally, I loved learning that open communication and conflict resolution skills are among the most important skills in marriage. I think all intending catholic couples should take the course as the different aspects of the program will be enriching for their relationship. – Juliet
The course has been quite helpful for our relationship. It enabled us to discuss important issues we had been ignoring. I strongly believe this discussion will be helpful for the success of our marriage. The exercises helped us work hand in hand as a team and better understand each other and what our wants and needs are. The conversations on “doing my part” and “Money” were particularly helpful, as we were already trying to navigate them. I would advise other couples to take the course, but importantly, do the exercises together as it will give you a better understanding of one another. – Emmanuel

Aurora and Shelden
It has been so difficult to find one that was in person for both of us to attend with our busy schedules in the hospital. I felt this was so wonderful for us to be able to complete at any time of the day and at our own pace! We felt that this course really opened us up to each other and pulled some needed emotions from us. I enjoyed the emotional part of this process a lot. I feel that this has really helped my understanding of marriage from a sacrament perspective. I am really looking forward to stepping into my faith more through this experience. I feel like other couples should really give courses like this a try even if they are not from the catholic church! I felt this was so inspiring for our relationship and helped open some doors that even being together for nearly five years had not opened yet. – Aurora
I really found this whole experience to be quite profound. It really made me think and ask about different things to get to know a little more about my partner’s upbringing and how we feel things should be handled in our marriage. I found it helpful that there were sections where we did separate answers and came back together to talk about what we wrote and understand our differences in answers. I never quite understood the sacrament, but this definitely helps shed good light on the topic and helped me be more prepared for it. I would tell other couples that they need to do this course, especially if they have very tight schedules like ours. It is easy to take this course at your leisure and really take the time and absorb the information it is portraying. It also makes you ask good questions as well as going over issues you have together. I believe this course can help bring couples closer together. – Shelden

Shannon and Brendon
Thank you, Reverend Frank, for an incredible course. In the mix of all the chaos of wedding planning it was very nice to sit down and share this time with Brendon. This course allowed us to really take a moment and get in touch with our feelings, as well as have conversations we’ve never really thought about. It even helped us talk through things involving wedding planning bumps we have encountered, which I really appreciate. I thought the course in general was very easy to follow and instructed perfectly.
I would absolutely recommend this course to friends and family. Not only was it a convenient way to complete this portion of a catholic wedding with our incredibly busy schedules, but it also made it more personal and intimate being able to do this together in the quiet space of our home. This was an incredible experience and we greatly appreciate you. – Shannon
I really enjoyed spending the time to complete this with my fiancé. To be honest, I did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed doing it. I think each section and work that was given was perfect and explained easily. I’m excited to continue the extra work but also continue to implement what we learned from this experience throughout our marriage. Thank you, Rev. Frank, for providing this invaluable information. God Bless. – Brendon

Benjamin and Melina
Reviewing my experience with the online Pre-Cana course, I found it to be incredibly helpful and enjoyable, especially given that my fiancé and I are long distance. I live in Pennsylvania and he lives in Arizona. With our busy schedules and the distance between us, completing these classes in person would have been nearly impossible, so having the flexibility to do them online and at our own pace was such a blessing. The course deepened my understanding of marriage by reminding me that the most important foundation is first our relationship with God and then with each other.
I also appreciated how it guided us through meaningful conversations on important topics such as finances, children, communication, and relationships with our families. This not only strengthened my confidence in our relationship but also prepared us for the sacrament of marriage in a practical and faith-filled way. I would encourage other couples, especially those who are long distance or have demanding schedules, to take this course as it makes the process accessible, flexible, and truly enriching. I really enjoyed this course! – Melina
Taking the online Pre-Cana course was a positive experience for me. I appreciated how it allowed us to reflect on our relationship at our own pace, which was important since we live far apart currently. The course pushed me to think more deeply about what marriage really means, not just as a ceremony, but as a lifelong partnership built on faith, communication, and trust. I especially liked the exercises that got us talking about practical issues like finances, family expectations, household roles, and future goals, which made me feel more prepared for the real challenges of married life. I’d recommend this course to couples as a great way to strengthen their relationship and feel ready for marriage. – Benjamin

Margaretmary and Rick
I found the course to be helpful and insightful. I learned things about my partner that I did not know before. I would recommend this course to other couples getting married because it helps you to feel closer to your partner and also closer to God. This course helped us to talk about things that are difficult and helped us to communicate better in our everyday lives. Rev. Frank did an absolutely amazing job with this course and is truly the kindest soul! I think the conversations helped us to grow closer as a couple. – Margaretmary
I enjoyed the course. I think it opened my eyes to things we haven’t even thought to discuss. It opened me up to looking more within myself for what I haven’t been doing and what I could be doing more to express my love and be there for Mimi. Some conversations were hard but that means they were good for us whether they were enjoyable or not. It helped us grow and be happy with the commitment we are taking together. This course helped me understand more in depth the life we are building and the commitment we are taking together in front of God. I advise other couples to use it. You’re so busy planning out your wedding together you don’t think to sit down and have these types of conversations together. – Rick

Laurel and Andrew
This experience was really great, I truly enjoyed it and I believe Andrew did as well. We truly put our phones and other distractions away, and really took our time with this. We spent time discussing each question in detail and I loved hearing what Andrew had to say to certain questions. This was such an important part leading up to our wedding day, and I feel so thankful to be able to experience this, and hear Andrew’s thoughts and feelings out loud. I liked how certain questions really made us think more, and we had some great discussions about it. This was really helpful in preparing us for our marriage in church
Getting married in a church was always something we wanted to do, but now we both feel closer to God, and prayer, and know that faith will carry us through in our married lives and our future together. I have a few friends who are getting married in a church in 2026, and I would 10/10 recommend this course to them. They are people who would get a lot of learnings from this, similar to Andrew and I. Rev. Frank, your course was impactful, and we learned so much. We enjoyed all of the conversations, and really had some awesome communication. I think it brough Andrew and I even closer together. – Laurel
The pre-cana was very helpful. This helped Laurel and I talk about topics we would have never neutrally discussed until they were right in front of us. We truly enjoyed the course and guided conversations. We found so much value in it just talking through our answers listening to each other. The course did a great job of describing what the Sacrament of Marriage is all about, not the party, decorations, guest list, but truly why we are getting married and what it means in the eyes of God.
I would highly recommend married couples take the course for those who did not get married in a church. They are missing out on the deeper conversation and what it really means to be married. This was a great experience and you conducted the course so well, very easy to follow along and we got a lot out of it. Thank you! – Andrew

Claire and Dalton
Pre-Cana was such a fun bonding experience for Dalton and I and helped us prepare for the sacrament of marriage. This course forced us to dedicate spending together and discussing important and sometimes difficult topics that were and are important to discuss before entering a marriage. It was a great reinforcement throughout the course that we have very similar values, upbringings, and future goals around family and faith! I would tell future couples to enjoy this time and dedicate specific date night days to go through the course. Spread the course across multiple weeks to ensure it doesn’t become daunting or feel like a choir but rather a fun activity for you both to do together. – Claire
I really enjoyed the course because it allowed me to be sure of a lot of things and learn a lot of new things about Claire. I think discussing all of these very important topics was a big step towards our wedding day. I believe these are all crucial topics that we will face in our life and it was great learning about how we can work through them together. Knowing our faith will bring us together and keep us connected throughout our life is something very important to me. That is what I learned from this experience and I and excited to bring those learnings into our marriage. I’d tell future couples to take advantage of this course and use it as a tool to make your relationship stronger with each other and your faith. – Dalton
Cynthia and Eduardo
I truly felt like this experience brought us closer together. We have been together for over 9 years and we talked about things we have never thought of speaking about especially when it comes to our faith. Although it took us way longer than we expected, (we both work full time and we only worked on it while together) we are really happy we chose to do this, and I think we took a lot away from this experience. – Cynthia
Going through Pre-Cana was such a meaningful experience for me. It gave us the chance to really sit down and talk about our relationship and the future in ways we hadn’t before, and it made me feel even closer to her. It also opened my eyes to how important it is to bring God into every part of our lives together. I realized that growing in faith as a couple is just as important as everything else, and it showed me that our faith is the foundation that will keep us strong. Overall, it brought me closer to her and to God, and I’m really grateful for everything I learned and felt through it. Thank you again for this wonderful experience. We cannot wait to be married with God as our witness. – Eduardo

Nicole and Anthony
I really enjoyed the way this course encouraged us to pause and talk about things we may not always make time for in everyday life. Even though Anthony and I don’t have major issues, it was valuable to reflect on how we can continue building healthy habits, like communication and patience, as we enter into marriage. The prayers and scripture readings were also a beautiful reminder of the spiritual side of our commitment. I would encourage other couples to approach this with an open heart, because it’s not just preparation for a ceremony — it’s preparation for a lifetime together. Thank you so much for this experience – we will definitely be recommending it to our friends and family members that are getting married! – Nicole
Going through this Pre-Cana course was really helpful because it gave me the chance to slow down and think about what marriage really means, not just the wedding day. I enjoyed the guided conversations, especially the parts where Nicole and I got to talk about how we communicate and how we want to keep growing as a couple. It reminded me that our relationship is about teamwork and love, but also about putting God at the center of our marriage. I’d tell other couples that it’s worth taking the time to do this because it helps you strengthen your foundation before the big day. – Anthony

Karen and Antonio
I found this course to be very helpful. I enjoyed that it allowed us to be vulnerable and talk about subjects that we don’t normally bring up on our regular day to day. I enjoyed being able to take some time to reflect and bond with my significant other before we get married. It was a great way to reinforce our love and commitment to one another. – Karen
While it was long and tedious I was very surprised at how much this made me open up. I can see why it’s a course we take before marriage. There are topics and questions that really make you question who you are and why you think a certain way. I enjoyed being able to have personal time with Karen with no technology or interruptions. It has opened my eyes and shown me how united we are and how aligned our thoughts are. It’s helped me understand her more and for that I’m grateful. – Antonio

Nancy and James
From beginning to end, the course gave us a clearer understanding of our relationship, how we think, where we stand spiritually, and how we approach family, religion, and even money. We came to see that marriage is not a joke; it is a sacred commitment to support one another and be each other’s complement. I represent James, and James represents me. Taking this course now was important, because it confirmed for me how sure I am that I want to marry James and how deeply I know the kind of person he is. I would tell other couples to take this course as well. It’s a must and an invaluable part of preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage. – Nancy
Overall my experience was very positive. It was both helpful and enjoyable. The reputation of the course made us respect the order and the questions and answered them with vulnerability and honesty and so did Nancy. In the majority of cases our answers were similar and made us feel even more like a team because they showed us how aligned we are in our vision. I already was coming into this class with a strong respect for the Sacrament of Marriage but the topics and the depth of the questions constantly reminded us that we are going to be a team and our life is going to be a commitment to God and we are to be agents producing fruit and working for His kingdom. I don’t think I would change a thing. – James

Hannah and Michael
This course is a blessing in disguise. It helped us see different ways of connecting and communicating and so much that we can take and use in our future. Although the process is long, I personally think it is important for every couple to do to help have a successful marriage and life with the love and guidance of God. It has helped me better learn that marriage is difficult but worth it with the right guidance and trusting in God and one another. To other couples I say take the time to do each section and if you don’t feel comfortable go over it again with your partner. Loving God is most important and then loving each other is next. Learn new tools to help with conflict and learn more about each other every day. Love is a choice so choose to talk with each other and always come to a conclusion. – Hannah
This experience was very helpful. There was a lot that we learned about each other. We found a lot of new ways to communicate and understand each other. It also showed us that marriage isn’t gonna be easy but if we work at it together and have faith in god we will have a long and successful marriage. I didn’t think the course would be so helpful but boy was I wrong. It helped me open up and learn so much more about my fiancé and her feelings. It also helped me learn about the role god will have and all the preparation and sacraments involved in marriage. I would tell other couples to be open about the course and take the time to do every step you can. It was very helpful and you will be surprised at what you learn about yourself and your spouse. – Michael

Christy and Robert
Completing this course was a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be. It didn’t feel like just an assignment that had to be done. Rather, it was time we were able to spend together that sparked conversations we wouldn’t typically have. During the wedding planning process, we tend to lose sight of what matters most. This was something we worked together doing every day, little by little. The conversations that came with It brought us back together and closer than we could have thought. Although many of these conversations we have had, it was nice to revisit them and see how we have grown and how we can do better.
Overall, this was a great way for us to be together and to engage in healthy communication. I would recommend this course to couples that are not only preparing to get married, but to couples who have been married for a while. I believe this would be beneficial in creating strength and unity in one’s relationship. Thank you again for the time and effort you put into creating this course. This truly was a great experience for Robert and me. – Christy
Pre-Cana was a meaningful and eye-opening experience that offered valuable insights into the realities of married life. It provided a space for honest conversations about communication, conflict resolution, faith, finances, intimacy, and family planning—topics that are often overlooked in everyday discussions but are essential to a strong and lasting marriage. –Robert

Carolina and Matthew
This course was great! I love having in depth conversations and all of these topics are important to talk about before getting married. Being able to share our perspectives to make sure we’re on the same page or at least understanding of the other person’s point of view is very important. The flexibility of going at our own pace was a big positive for me as well. I would give great feedback of this course to other couples who may be interested in using this for their marriage prep. You get out of it what you put into it, so make sure you’re both committed to having these important conversations before marriage and the course is more than worth it! – Carolina
I thought the course did a really good job of steering the conversation and bringing up topics that are important to make sure you’re on the same page about before marriage. We had talked about a lot of them previously, but not all of them, and not in that level of detail as well. It was great to be able to work at our own pace and take as much time as we needed on any of the topics, some were more relevant to our situation than others, so being able to go more in depth was great. It reinforced the fact that we are becoming one and all of the responsibilities and duties that go along with that. I’d definitely recommend the course to other couples as it’s easy to navigate, you can go at your own pace, and you get the meaningful conversations you need out of it. – Matt

Michelle and Derek
These lessons were a good way for Derek and I to take a pause and focus on our relationship, beyond the upcoming wedding. I enjoyed the guided questions as it allowed me to think about some topics that we hadn’t already discussed. For example, if one of us got a job in a different province, country etc. It also gave us time to reflect on both of our strengths as a couple and areas of opportunity. I enjoyed how the lessons reminded us that marriage requires teamwork, communication, and shared values – even if our beliefs don’t necessarily match. I’d encourage other couples to complete the lessons as a chance to build upon their relationships foundation and find a deeper understanding and connection before saying “I Do’. – Michelle
This experience I believe was very helpful because it opened different avenues of communication between Michelle and I. I also believe any issues Michelle had I will become a better husband and listen more to her and ask more questions to help resolve them. This course helped me understand how my partner is the most important thing, and we should always work together and not against each other when problems arise. I would say to others that marriage is all about communication and always being open with each other. I also realized from this course has taught me how important it is to always be a TEAM IN A MARRIAGE and always work with each other and not against each other. – Derek

Hannah and Collin
Going through the lessons shared during the Pre-Cana course has allowed Collin and I to learn more about each other than ever before. It has given us new topics of conversation to discuss that we may not have talked about otherwise. I believe it was beneficial to do before marriage because it opened our eyes to topics we didn’t realize should be discussed beforehand. Now that the course is over, our ideas align more than ever. We learned about each other, about getting through conflicts, and about our relationship with God during the exercises. I hope to use the lessons learned in the future as we go through life together – Hannah
Overall, I had a pleasant experience with the course. I thought the conversations were new to our relationship and good topics to cover before our marriage (some we hadn’t even thought about before!). I thought the course layout made the conversations more intimate and personal. I liked the opportunity to work on the conversations at your own pace, then sit down together to talk about them. We made many of these conversations into date nights, and I would encourage couples to do the same! Making a night out of our conversations allowed us to take it more seriously and make the moments memorable. I would definitely recommend the course to those about to be married! – Collin

Madalyn and Isaac
The Pre-Cana course has been very helpful as we prepare for marriage. My partner and I have discussed many aspects of our backgrounds and goals for the future, but we often don’t take time to analyze or reflect on our experiences, attitudes, or goals. This course gave us ample opportunities to converse openly about topics that impact many aspects of our lives but may not always be talked about explicitly. Not only did it spark thoughtful discussion, but it also was so enjoyable in its format of both individual and collaborative practices. Through reflective prayer and guided conversations, we have been able to grow closer together in a focused, spiritual, and comfortable process. I would highly recommend this course to other couples as it has truly helped strengthen our relationship with God and with each other! – Madalyn
The online Pre-Cana class was certainly a unique experience for Maddy and I. It allowed us to explore a variety of different topics, including love, finances, future children, and most importantly, how our lives are intertwined with Christ. I personally believed this experience was quite enjoyable and helpful. As we worked through the topics at our speed, it allowed us to take time and truly focus on our answers. Also, I believe that the ability to digest the questions twice (once individually and once with Maddy) provided a fantastic opportunity for me to not only understand the expectations of being a husband but also work with Maddy on how we can have a successful marriage. Furthermore, since I recently converted to Catholicism at the Easter vigil, the sacraments are new to me. However, this course taught me about the Sacrament of Marriage through active learning.
Through videos, various readings, and complex questions, I was able to learn more about the role of Christ in our marriage from preparation to our wedding day to beyond. Overall, I would strongly recommend this Pre-Cana class to other couples. This course allowed Maddy and I to better understand each other as well as the role of Christ in our marriage. By working through the separate topics at your own pace, you feel an opportunity to truly connect to one another. Thank you so much for providing us with a wonderful experience! – Isaac

Samantha and Richard
Thank you so much for the amazing course! We loved it!!! I liked being able to do it in the comfort of our own home and at our own pace. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Also, I really liked that we could be more intimate and open in our conversations – rather than feeling uncomfortable having to speak in front of others. It felt like we could be more raw. We touched on topics that we really didn’t dive deep into even in our six years of being together. Some topics – like money could be a bit awkward but it was nice to know we were on the same page. – Samantha
The course was very helpful and exactly what we needed before our marriage. It helped us in many ways but the biggest by far was forcing us to talk about necessary topics that were previously pushed to the side. We addressed finances and goals we had as husband and wife. – Richard

Savannah and Trevor
This course was extremely helpful in identifying areas where Trevor and I had not had a serious conversation. With me being a nurse, it can be difficult to find time for just us two to talk. This course allowed us to finish all the conversations that we never had. I was extremely happy in the Money conversation, where we talked about each other’s goals and how to ensure that our family is taken care of. This is not something that I am usually interested in but knew we had to discuss it. Also, the children section was extremely important too as we want to raise our kids in God’s house, instilling good values in them. Overall, I was very happy with the course and feel that there isn’t anything unknown or not talked about with Trevor. Thank you for this course as it was extremely helpful guiding the tough conversation. – Savannah
Wow, this course has really opened my eyes. At first, I was surprised how quickly Savannah and I were into it. We first started talking about the last time we had a real conversation and for a second there, we couldn’t remember. It allowed us to have ‘tougher’ conversations around all the important topics: kids, money, in-laws, etc. I personally felt closer to Savannah just from going through this course. We now have an understanding of one another. One thing in particular, was talking about our parents. We both agreed to have a healthy balance between the two, so we are not neglecting the other. This was a very important topic to me as I know I have a tendency to always want to be with my family. One thing I will say to other couples is take this course serious. It allows the two of you to have open honest conversations without having to argue over things. – Trevor

Uche and Tobi
I found the course invaluable not just for the topics we explored, but for how it guided our conversations. Pre-Cana helped us to take our time, allowing discussions to unfold naturally without feeling rushed. The pace gave us the gift of reflection, helping me see marriage not simply as a ceremony, but a lifelong vocation rooted in faith, communication, and shared values. To other couples preparing for marriage, I’d recommend this: approach the Pre-Cana journey as more than a requirement. It’s a much needed invitation to grow closer emotionally, spiritually, and practically before saying “I do.” – Uche
Completing the online Pre-Cana course together offered us a great space to discuss topics like our relationships with our parents, hopes around having children, our financial habits, and how we see our family roles. Writing down our thoughts and then flipping through each other’s responses brought both clarity and connection. It was nice to experience together. This course sets a strong foundation and makes us think more before we say how we feel. The course truly helped us learn about marriage as a sacrament. It’s grounded in love, mutual respect, and intentional planning. To other couples, I’d say: embrace this opportunity to talk deeply and intentionally before your wedding because it’s one of the most meaningful things you can do together. – Tobi

Ngan and Brandon
This course was a complimentary piece to my wedding preparation journey. It was refreshing, deep, and allowed me to contemplate the complexities of growing together as a man and woman from two different walks of life. It encouraged talks about each others families and pasts that we never had the opportunity to talk about. I’m grateful my fiance and I chose this course to deepen our understanding of the Sacrament before marriage. – Ngan
I found the course to be quite insightful, and it helped me to reflect on the qualities, needs, and emotions of my partner that I had not thought about before. The course helped me to reflect on my own behaviors, which has allowed me to become more empathetic and thoughtful towards my partner. We explored many topics regarding children, money, emotions, the future, etc., which have set a positive foundation for our relationship moving forward.
Though, the course felt much longer than anticipated, and I do feel it could be condensed. Because of our busy schedules, we spent months on the course, which at times felt difficult to manage and make progress toward. I would say to other couples that if you’re looking for a course that is in-depth and intimate, this is the perfect course for you. You will have plenty of opportunities to share your deepest feelings, and the course will naturally accommodate and support you in expressing your emotions to your partner. – Brandon

Abbi and Danny
I was skeptical about the course, mostly because I wasn’t sure what exactly premarital counseling would entail. However, I quickly realized how helpful this course was. I thought that Danny and I were already having good conversations, but this course allowed the both of us to take a step back and have a space to talk to each other deeply.
I cried multiple times throughout the course while we went through our reflection responses because talking it over with him made me feel even closer than before we started. I think there is so much to go through before marriage and I think that this course was able to help us both think about not only the exciting things to come, but also future challenges and how we can strive to overcome them through communication and faith. I highly recommend this course to couples who are very busy. Danny and I are both physicians, so scheduling an in-person pre-cana course was nearly impossible. This allowed us to discuss the same topics but at our own pace. – Abbi
This exercise was great. It was an excellent way to talk about the serious life issues that we will need to navigate throughout over the course of our marriage. The best part is the self-paced nature of the course. Because of it, we were able to have long discussions and really immerse ourselves in some of the questions and were not limited by a schedule or itinerary in an in-person session.
We had discussed wanting to do premarital counseling, especially to know how to better resolve conflicts, but this pre-cana course was a great model of how we should discuss things in the future. As a man who was raised protestant, I am thankful for this experience to understand the sacrament of marriage from the catholic perspective. The online course also helps make a catholic marriage more accessible to me because I am free to ask my fiance questions without judgement. I would recommend this course to both Catholics and non-Catholics to fulfill their pre-cana certification. – Danny

Flora May and Laurie
My experience with this course is that it is not easy while preparing the wedding plan at the same time. I learned to be more understanding and got more ideas on how to deal with life. This is my first marriage, and it helped me to understand how to be a better wife in the future. However, the joy of this whole experience is absolutely fun, because we made time to bond and make future plans in the next step in life. Marriage is a lifetime commitment I may say to other couples marriage is not just on paper but also a commitment to God and willingness to sacrifice and fulfill my duties as wife. – Flora May
Hi, I’m Laurie and I found this course quite detailed and took quite a while to complete it. This helped us to foster communication between us on some very important issues. As busy as we are with everything, we still found time to do this together. The wedding planning has increased our communication with the church and something that we probably needed. As it is the first time we will be getting married, I have learned quite a bit from this. The encouragement of working together was very helpful and made it enjoyable. I would encourage other couples to do this course together and make a real effort to listen to the other person. Thanks again Reverend Frank – Laurie

Completing the Catholic marriage course has been an incredibly enriching and transformative experience for me. It provided a sacred space to pause and reflect deeply on the meaning of marriage—not just as a union between two people, but as a holy vocation guided by God. Through the teachings, prayer, and conversations we shared during the course, I felt a renewed closeness to God and a greater understanding of His presence in our relationship. It reminded me that love is a gift from God, and that by keeping Him at the center of our lives, we are better able to love each other selflessly and faithfully.
The course also helped strengthen our bond as a couple, encouraging us to have honest and meaningful conversations about our future, our values, and our shared dreams. It gave us practical tools and spiritual insights that will help us build a strong, faith-filled foundation for our marriage and future family. I now feel more prepared and at peace as we move forward together, knowing we are not walking this journey alone, but with God’s guidance and grace supporting us every step of the way. To any couple thinking about taking the Catholic marriage course, I truly encourage you to go into it with an open heart and a willingness to grow together. The course offers both spiritual and practical guidance that can help you navigate marriage with more clarity, compassion, and unity. It’s a beautiful way to grow not only closer to your partner, but also to God — and it lays a solid foundation for a future filled with love, faith, and mutual support. – Kaitlin
This course has strengthened our relationship by encouraging open and honest conversations about our hopes, expectations, and even fears about the future. It offered practical tools for resolving conflict with compassion, nurturing emotional intimacy, and building a family grounded in faith and mutual respect. More than anything, it reminded me that love is a daily choice — one that reflects Christ’s love for the Church. As we prepare for our wedding and the life ahead, I feel more confident and spiritually equipped to grow in love, support, and unity with my future wife. To any couple considering taking the Catholic marriage course, I would highly recommend it — not just as a requirement before the wedding, but as a meaningful investment in your future together. This has been an opportunity to grow individually and as a couple, and it lays a strong foundation built on faith, love, and mutual respect — one that will carry you through the joys and challenges of married life. – Tyler.

This marriage certificate course was helpful to finally be able to take a step back and look at the bigger picture of things but also break down certain important details you don’t think about day to day and may take for granted. It’s nice to reflect after 10 years on what some things we have enjoyed in our life that you almost forgot about but are very important and truly made me more excited to marry an amazing man. I liked the format of the papers how it showcased certain things and is nice to write it on paper. To other couples I would say life is too short. Enjoy the time you have and everything will work itself out. Try not to stress the small things focus on the larger picture of why you are even doing this course in the first place. Thank you very much. – Alyson
Taking this wedding course was a really good experience for both of us. At first, we didn’t know exactly what to expect, but we ended up learning a lot and growing closer as a couple. The most helpful part was learning how to communicate better and how to work through problems together. We enjoyed the time we had to just slow down and focus on each other. Life can get so busy with wedding planning, so it was nice to have time set aside to talk and reflect on why we’re getting married in the first place.
This course helped us see that marriage is more than just a big day or a legal step that it’s a holy promise we’re making to each other and to God. We learned that marriage is a journey, and God is with us through it all. That was really comforting and inspiring. To other couples we would highly recommend taking a course like this. It’s not just about getting ready for the wedding, it’s about building a strong, lasting relationship. Take it seriously, be honest with each other, and let God be part of your journey. It will help you grow, not just as a couple, but in your faith too. – Wageesha
Thao Do and Steven
I found the course to be loving, comprehensive and meaningful. The conversation regarding parents/family was very difficult for me given my family dynamic, but it was a worthwhile discussion to have with myself and with my partner, Steven. These were good moments to pause and reflect. We truly discussed matters of the heart. Though we have had similar discussions before – Steven isn’t the type to be very open and expressive, so I was especially curious about his thoughts. His answers truly allowed me to understand him more and his faith and each other.
We always aim to understand our differences and different approaches to life with love. This was a good moment to recognize the love we have for each other, regardless of our different faiths. We are more similar than different and love truly connects us. Thank you for the course and I can see this being supportive to other couples written in language for those of different faiths. – Thao Do
The experience was very helpful and enjoyable. We were able to have a guided discussion on very important talking points that we will face in the future. I feel closer with my partner after discussing issues, finances, parents, and money. These are talking points that we do not generally discuss and I appreciate having this opportunity to tackle these points. We will use your guided conversations and teachings to make this a successful and happy marriage. I would tell other couples that this course is a great opportunity for emotional growth and to feel closer as a couple. I appreciate you, Rev. Frank. – Steven
Shauna and Nicholas
Pre-Cana was the part of wedding prep that I was not really excited to complete due to how long it was going to take us. However, I am overall satisfied with our experience with the Pre-Cana Online and am thankful we took the time to engage in deep conversation. There were a lot of questions that I never thought of talking about. The videos were also very helpful during this experience. My favorite conversation was Our Love Life because we were both able to reflect on how we feel in love with each other and talk about this next chapter in our life. – Shauna
I really enjoyed all the conversations we were able to have during our down time and really connected. It got me thinking of the future for example, money, kids, and how marriage life will be. It also gave us a chance to share our feelings and talk about things that might bother us and how to navigate closer. Overall, I’m so glad we took this course and I feel prepared for marriage. I will also suggest to other couples that doing it online at your own pace with a busy work schedule was very helpful! – Nicholas
Solvej and Joseph
We have been married for almost 3 years, and only now got the opportunity to have the religious ceremony. I recommend taking the course very seriously as it has helped solidify our already strong foundation, and I am sure all the imparted wisdom will continue to be reflected in our interactions. With the additional benefit of doing it at your own pace, it also allowed us to choose the safest place to hold each conversation. We are enjoying all the great discussions, and teachings! Thank you! – Solvej
I really enjoyed the course. Sitting down and typing out all of my answers was not always the first thing I wanted to do, but I believe in the benefits of the practice, and I don’t think Solvej and I have ever covered these copies in as much detail as we were able to do through the conversations. I think I now have a better understanding of Solvej and why she is the way she is. I think I love her even more now. My one recommendation to other couples is to make sure your answers are saved before moving on. Both of us had to redo several conversations because our answers did not save properly. – Joseph
Silvia and John
I really enjoyed the Pre Cana, which I decided to write in my native language, and when I read it, I obviously translated it into English so John could understand. I feel it enriched our relationship even more because we were able to delve much deeper into transcendental topics in a relationship. It allowed us to answer questions we never saw the need to ask before, and it opened our perspective on other topics, such as natural planning. I encourage all couples who want a truly Catholic or Christian marriage to take the time to do the Pre Cana. I believe we are now much more prepared and have a much clearer vision of what a true Catholic-Christian marriage is. – Silvia
We found this course helpful, as it had us having conversations that we otherwise might not have had on our own. It allowed us to learn more details about one another’s upbringings and families which helps us become more understanding about why we do things a certain way, where our religious traditions come from, or have the beliefs that we do. This course allowed us to reiterate why we chose each other as marriage partners and it helped us to put everything in perspective. I would recommend to other couples that they take their time when doing the course and try to take in everything their partner is saying fully, and they will then learn things they didn’t know about them. – John
Carly and Kevin
My thoughts on this course were nothing short of amazing! I really liked that we were able to take our time and not feel pressured to complete the course in a timely manner. It felt nice and relaxed which really is the true definition of our relationship. I felt like the questions that were asked were some I have never thought of and allowed the two of us to really dig deep into our 12 year relationship. Even when I thought I couldn’t learn more about Kevin, this course has shown me I was wrong about that. I feel more connected to Kevin and I feel prepared to enter this next step in life together! – Carly
During Pre-Cana, this process has allowed me to rethink and view our relationship through multiple lenses. This has made me more appreciative of our relationship as well as learning how to further grow with one another. I would highly recommend this to other couples so they can also experience and appreciate the exercises throughout Pre-Cana. This has allowed us to become more prepared in the sacrament of Marriage and continue to shape our relationship to grow a beautiful family. – Kevin
Andrea and Christian
This experience with my husband has been changing and changing for the better. I think that it’s good that we sat down and got to know each other really a lot more in depth and asked questions about each other that he probably would’ve never asked, so I think this course is great for really diving deep into one another. My husband, and I both agree that we would recommend this course for anybody who is going to get married in the Catholic Church, because it really shows the true meaning of marriage and what it means to love and be sacred to one another. You really start to think about the real REAL reasons you’re with your future person. It got us to think deeply about our future and what foundation we want our marriage to be built on. These types of questions are not usually brought up in a setting with your significant other but I’m glad we got to think deep. – Andrea
I think this experience has been great. I truly will like to come back to this in the future and go over the questions again and make sure our values still align. This is something I recommend all couples to do on a yearly basis. This course has contributed to our marriage in many great ways because I got to understand the true meaning and fulfilment of my partner’s needs and wants and where their faith stands. Overall a great course! – Christian
Kaitlyn and Cameron
Going through this course together allowed us to view our relationship in a new light, focusing on both our strengths and areas in which we can grow. What stood out most was the chance to talk openly about our faith backgrounds and how to support each other spiritually. We appreciated the practical tools for managing conflict and planning our future, which made the idea of marriage feel more real/manageable. Overall, this experience has deepened our understanding of the sacrament and we both would encourage other couples to approach this course with openness and honesty as it will help bring them even closer before their wedding day. – Kaitlyn and Cameron

Chelsea and Sean
I have completed the course and have to say I am very pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. When Sean and I sat down to share our answers we had such a good experience, we were able to laugh together and cry together. I feel that the questions really prompted intimate and meaningful conversation. A lot of the things we had talked about already in our relationship but there were new conversations that we got to have as well. I found that it gave us a new appreciation for what marriage is and how this was taking us to the next level and it wasn’t just a piece of paper we were signing. After the course I feel very excited to start this chapter with my fiancé and I am profoundly excited to continue sharing and exploring some of these topics with him as we grow together in our marriage. – Chelsea
I found this course both grounding and clarifying. It gave us space to slow down and actually talk about the kind of marriage we want, not just the wedding day. I appreciated how many of the questions invited vulnerability and truth… especially around communication, gratitude, and expectations. It reminded me that love isn’t just a feeling; it’s active, daily work. I feel better equipped, and more connected to Chelsea, because of it. – Sean
Kristine and Kevin
Completing the pre-cana course was very eye-opening. Even doing the first discussion had me crying while writing the prayer portion. It really allowed us to have deeper discussions of topics we’ve talked about before and revealed and a lot of things that I experienced as a child that were different from my partner, which explained a lot of who we are today. I enjoyed how this course brought us even closer together and allowed us to communicate better with each other. I would tell other couples that they should do pre-marital classes like pre-cana because it’s a guided experience to allow you to get to know your future spouse even more and allows you both to pray together in each step. – Kristine
First, I would like to thank you for blessing us with this opportunity of deepening our connection with one another with God as our foundation. It is truly an emotional and spiritual reawakening going through the guided conversations you have provided. Understanding the walk with Jesus, even thoughout our marriage, is an unending and unwavering commitment. As we start a life together with God as our solid foundation, I feel the home we build on it will last forever. We thank God for having him speak through you and helping us on this Journey. I definitely will recommend this course to future marriages. – Kevin
Lily and Thuyet
I thoroughly enjoyed these conversations. They helped me and my partner reach a deeper understanding of what marriage is, especially from a Christian standpoint. I really enjoyed the part on preparing to bring children into this world. It was a great refresher even for myself to review what are my morals/values that were instilled in me while growing up. I got a chance to explore my religious faith and journey as I answered the questions. This course opened up my mind to topics that I would have never thought about so I really appreciate going through this experience. – Lily

Overall, this was an enjoyable experience since we were able to understand each other better at the end of it all. This course allowed us to focus on the things that are important to us and how we want to create and raise a family together thus preparing us for the Sacrament of Marriage. I would tell other couples to work through the questions and open up so that you can begin to understand yourself and your lifelong partner. – Thuyet
Crystal and Jonathan
My experience with the pre-cana course is that it was very enjoyable. I believe my fiancé and I have had a lot of the conversations that were included in the course. We have already had talks of kids and our responsibilities, and marriage, and our views on a lot of things mentioned. However, I liked that for the discussions we were holding hands, it felt more connected. The course has greatly contributed to our preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage because of the great conversations that were included but also because it brought us closer to the church, closer to God.
We are establishing a foundation with God before starting our marriage which is very important to me and means so much to me. It is because this has brought us closer to God, that we now know this is Jubilee year and we will go visit the holy doors at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome which opens every 25 years and this will truly be a blessing starting our marriage. I will say to other couples to enjoy the process and enjoy the conversations with your partner as these are very important to have discussions about. – Crystal
I would say my overall experience was astonishing and life changing. This course was so helpful, it was great to have open conversations about various important topics before we legally get married! We surprisingly enjoyed each section and were happy we had time to pause, reflect, and have open discussions. One thing I would say to other couples is that even if you think you have talked about everything you haven’t! This course is awesome and allows you to think deeper! Thanks for everything rev Frank! – Kristina
The precana online course was amazing. I was a bit hesitant at first with it being online, but the course goes into great depth in many different aspects of the sacrament of marriage and how best to prepare. The discussions were most helpful, as we ended up spending more time on this just talking about some of the exercises and how they can even help us in the future. I would definitely recommend this course for any couple looking to do pre cana training! Reverend Frank has put together a fantastic course! – Ed

Yadira and Javier
Dear Reverend Frank, firstly, I’d like to thank you for this wonderful course. My fiance and I live on opposite sides of the country. Therefore, it was difficult to find classes that could accommodate us during times that we could both have off for work. The course helped illuminate topics that we would not have thought to touch on before getting married. We learned things about each other that we didn’t know about and it gave us learning tools that we will forever go back to. Most importantly allowed us to open up to each other in a special way that solidified the decision to get married. I have already recommended the course to a friend that is to get married next year. Thank you again! – Yadira
Dear Rev. Frank, I loved the course, especially making time to spend together working on it felt like we were both working as a team. It helped us bring up topics we would not have thought to bring up on our own, and the questions often made us reflect on our own views and stances on topics that can often be difficult to discuss. I would encourage all couples to go through these exercises before their wedding, and it really will be a reassurance that you are on the right path together. –Javier

I really did enjoy this experience and will be recommending it to friends and family. – Laura
As far as the course we both found it very helpful in many ways. I’m happy that we are able to discuss topics such as finances and we have now a way to resolve some of the issues that came up during the course. I will take these course steps and apply to our lives as a married couple. – Dylan

Marriage is a sacred union, one that requires adequate preparation and should not be taken lightly. It is important to remember that marriage is more than just a party, it’s a lifelong commitment to one another. We were able to discuss important aspects of how we are living our lives today but also had a chance to discuss what our future holds. The issues section gave us a chance to dive into something we both had conflicted feelings on, but by the end of it we felt more on the same page and at ease. We certainly would encourage other couples to make sure they are having these conversations before preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage, especially those about children and finances. We thoroughly enjoyed this course and will highly recommend it to others! – Brandyn

It is for the most part what I thought it would be, but it was helpful to go over everything with my fiancé together. What I have been saying to other couples about this course is that it helped us talk about the important issues before getting married that will help us better know and understand each other as well. It is often hard to do these things on our own, so having this thoughtful, guided course made it a lot easier to have some of these difficult conversations. Thank you for your guidance! – Amanda

We’re now more excited than we ever were about our marriage. We definitely recommend others to take this course. I find all the questions and topics to be thoughtful and even would recommend it to couples outside the faith. Again, thank you for setting this course up for us and look forward to revisiting the talking points again down the line when we visit issues and anniversaries! – John

Anne and Jose
How gracious it was to attend this Catholic-Church approved online pre-Cana course! Living in a different country from that of my fiancé, the language barrier prevented us from successfully attending the course together in my home country. Given the importance of marriage preparation, we both wanted to fully dedicate ourselves to it and were very pleased with the depth of content and exercises provided by the Online PreCana. Even my local Church office praised your course content and were proud of us for seeking a marriage prep that could be fully understood by both of us. Moreover, this exercise program showed us how in tune we are in our relationship, how God graciously provided for us, and how sure we are of our decision to marry.
I loved the discussions with my fiancé and they opened my eyes to how a person’s upbringing, habits, faith, hobbies, goals, work balance, and interests may shape marriage. I will suggest this course to all my friends who are engaged. It’s extremely necessary to get prepared for the challenges that may arise but also to choose each other daily and learn how to discuss issues so love and respect never cease to bloom in the relationship. Thank you also for your quick responses and support when we contacted you early on. Please keep our future marriage in your prayers! – Anne
Dear Rev Frank, I enjoyed doing this with Anne. We have talked about a few of these topics previously but there were some that we have not talked about. Some of these questions were really tough to answer for me. The questions about my parents were very difficult to answer since I did not have a great upbringing. I really enjoyed the faith, Finance, before we say I do, and doing my part ones a lot. I think this is really helpful for those getting married, especially for younger couples. Thank you so much for this opportunity of making this Pre-Cana course available for couples who live long distances. – Jose

Elizabeth and Dominec
I found this experience to be helpful! As the two of us are bit older (in our mid to late 30s) we have lived long enough to be set in our own ways. Because of this I think we both had a good idea of what we wanted out of marriage and had previously touched on all of the provided topics, however, I felt this gave us a great format to sit back down and really delve in to how we felt and how we want to approach our lives together. This also allowed us to really reflect on how compatible and like-minded we are which only reinforced our feelings of love and excitement for our upcoming wedding. I would say to other couples that even if you think you have already discussed everything, you likely haven’t gone to the depth or dedicated this much time to talking about each individual topic and there will be surprises! I believe it truly can make your relationship stronger. – Elizabeth
This experience was valuable because it opened up our minds to topics that we haven’t necessarily done a deep dive into. It was helpful to share our answers to each of the questions and discuss these topics in great detail with one another. I enjoyed getting to learn more about Elizabeth’s love for and appreciation of me and hearing her opinion on why we have and will have a successful relationship. This is useful in preparing for the sacrament of marriage because we discussed how God will play a role in our own relationship as well as how we will raise our children. As far as what I would say to other couples—don’t rush through this, it is a great experience and opportunity to learn more about your loved one. – Dominic

Andrea and Mario
I entirely enjoyed the quality time I had with my partner (Mario) as I got to discuss with him a lot of things that we perhaps missed. I would advise couples that are interested in getting married to complete the course as it is beneficial for their future commitment. – Andrea
At the beginning when we both, Andrea and I, started the premarital course, I was skeptical about the outcome. It turns out that after the time we put into the course, it surprised me on how well it worked out. I learned more about Andrea, and the way she sees our marriage. It was an enjoyable moment and it helped me to discern new aspects about our commitment to make the final call and get married with her. For those couples that might be in a similar situation like myself, where you may doubt this premarital course, please do not hesitate to try it out because you will not be disappointed. It is a great investment not only of your time, but also to get to know more about your partner. – Mario

Anna and Fritz
I very much enjoyed working through the conversations. They (the conversations) were designed very thoughtfully and emotionally and allowed me to think about different aspects in our marriage that are important in creating a satisfying, honest, and fruitful marriage. I especially liked the conversation about our parents and how their marriages and relationships affect us. It definitely has prepared us both for the enormous responsibility of not just being married civilly but before the Catholic Church because it has deepened our undersanding of each other and how to navigate married life through good times but also conflicts. I definitely would encourage other couples to take this course as it is extremely helpful in preparing you for married life. -Anna
This course was very intimate for us and I really enjoyed them. This brought us closer and allowed us to bond during this stressful time of wedding planning. I really enjoyed learning more about Anna in ways we didn’t connect prior. This made me even more excited to marry her and I am excited to keep our faith running strong in our family. I think this course is a must for any couple getting married because it allows you to connect deeply about things that are not talked about on a regular basis. – Fritz

Kaitlin and Joseph
Participating in the Pre-Cana course gave me time to reflect deeply on our relationship and our love. I especially appreciated the conversations about communication, forgiveness, and our family dynamics. The course helped me feel more grounded in our faith and confident that our love will continue to grow through both joyful and difficult moments. It really did spark meaningful conversations between us that we may not have had otherwise. – Kaitlin
This experience really gave us a chance to slow down and be intentional about our future together and talk about important topics. It reminded us that marriage is not just about sharing life, but we are a reflection of God’s love and our future family. What I appreciated most was how the course encouraged us to talk more openly about expectations, values, and what kind of family we want to build. I’d recommend it to any couple that wants an opportunity to pause and connect. – Joseph

Sandra and Gabriel
Dear Rev. Frank, we would like to thank you for this course. In my experience during this course, it has helped us to be more open to each other about any issues you provided. It has also helped us to grow our love towards each other. Moreover, the sessions have been very enjoyable since we spend time together holding hands, praying together, and sharing our responses openly. We can be more vulnerable and comfortable together as we share laughter and tears during the process. This course has helped us to understand more about what marriage is and how we can work together as partners to build the family. I personally would like to recommend this course to my friends who will also have the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in the future. – Sandra
The Pre Cana course was overall a wonderful experience. I learned more about my beautiful bride, and I learned more about myself. We laughed together and we shed tears together. I feel an overwhelming sense of relief, not because we finished the course 5 days before the wedding, but because I was able to say things I wanted to say and things that I didn’t know that I needed to say. I am able to have a newfound appreciation for my parents and realize that they have been a great blessing. Ultimately, I am grateful to have done this course, and I am grateful to you for putting this all together. – Gabriel

Laurie and Earl
I feel like this Pre-Cana course was a good thing for us to go through. We got to share feelings and talk through some thoughts and ideas that we may not otherwise discussed. We are both older, have children of our own, are widowed, and have done pre-Cana before. We have known each other for over 40 years. So, we thought we wouldn’t learn anything new, but we actually did! I would recommend this course, especially being online, and it allowed us to do it in our own time and satisfy the Catholic church requirement. – Laurie
Dear Rev. Frank, thank you for developing this on-line Pre-Cana program. Laurie and I are not your “usual” couple, I am 65 and Laurie is 63. We each lost our spouses to cancer and questioned if we would find love again. We have known each other for almost 50 years. At first, we questioned the value of completing a Pre-Cana class in these circumstances. However, going through the videos, worksheets and discussion topics, I (and Laurie too) found it very beneficial and critical for our marriage preparation. Given our circumstances, some of the worksheet topics were very valuable for us to complete, some were not as relevant. One example was having and raising a family and those relating to parents. Both of my parents and Laurie’s father are in their heavenly homes. However, I found all to be structured to be thought and dialogue provoking. I am very pleased to have completed the work with Laurie. With warm regards. – Earl

Maria and Terblanche
I think it was really helpful. We had the opportunity of having very deep conversations and opening our hearts even more, we cried, we laughed, we told experiences of each other that we didn’t know before. I think it helped me to understand in a better way my future husband’s heart and from where he comes from and how I can love him and to understand him in a better way. I really liked all the topics the course offered. They were precise and very necessary.
This course helped me to understand that marriage is definitely about love = a decision, you decide to love your loved one every single day, with his good parts, his wounds, his failures, fears, hopes, dreams, everything. And I really want to support my husband and to love him every day of my life, until my last breath.
I strongly recommend this course (I’ve talked about this course to all my friends), and would tell the couples that it is very necessary to have these kinds of conversations not only for a pre-matrimony course, but as part of the discernment to the married life and the sacrament itself as a couple while you are still dating. It was very useful and helpful to use since we have a long distance relationship (I am from Ecuador, he is from South Africa). It was hard when it said “Hold hands,” but we found our ways for having that connection despite the distance, and I think it helped a lot because maybe our bodies were not close but our hearts felt closer than ever.
Matrimony is not a fairytale of a white dress and a party; it is taking the cross as Jesus did, with your spouse, and loving despite everything, and helping the other one to arrive to Heaven. This sacrament is similar to the Eucharist; it is a real communion but between 3: Christ, Husband and wife. This sacrament is and has to be the reflection of God’s love in this earth, as my father used to say: Matrimony it’s the only “walking sacrament”, because the couple itself IS the sacrament, and as we walk we have to show to the rest of the world how good is the Lord and how much he loves us for real, through our actions and being merciful as our heavenly Father is merciful. – María
The course was really enjoyable. We often went off track and shared stories about our past which we didn’t know about each other yet. I have never done guided conversations before and I would’ve been a bit skeptical about the concept, but all the conversations were really good and organized really well and it was actually very natural. It helped us make a lot of progress and definitely helped us prepare well for our marriage next month.
The conversations helped us to talk about a lot of important topics in more depth. We’ve already talked about a lot of the topics before, but the guided conversations really made us go into the topics in a LOT more depth we would not have reached otherwise and probably saved us getting into arguments/conflicts/misunderstandings during our matrimony, so thank you for that!
The course also helped me to realize the heights I need to strive for in loving my soon-to-be-wife, and that there is a lot I need to improve on. I’d definitely recommend this to other couples, because the course far exceeded my expectations and it is arguably better than most in-person marriage preparation courses available in the world. Thank you for everything! – Terblanche

Sarah and Matthew
Dear Rev. Frank, we thoroughly enjoyed this course and appreciated how we could decide how long each conversation could be. Some conversations were more difficult than we expected, but we learned a lot. After completing the course, I feel like I know Matthew better, that I understand his perspective on issues and that I love him even more. – Sarah
Dear Rev. Frank, thank you so much for having such a thorough and well-designed course. While we have talked about the topics at various points during our relationship, the variety of questions and the focus that each section had was excellent. It is also great to be able to work through the course in our own time, which allowed us to have close to 2 hours with each topic. We have already recommended the course to some of our friends here in the Netherlands. I really feel well prepared for the wedding day and more importantly married life afterwards. – Matthew

Brittany and Kyle
The course was both engaging and helpful. It made me realize that we are very agreeable on most things, but it also gave us the opportunity to discuss larger issues openly and come to mutual agreements on those as well. This experience strengthened our communication and understanding as a couple. I would definitely recommend this course to other couples preparing for marriage in the Catholic Church. – Brittany
The course was both enjoyable and rewarding, providing valuable guidance as we prepare for marriage. It confirmed that we are a great match and strengthened our certainty that we are meant to be married. I would highly recommend this course to other couples looking to build a long-lasting marriage! – Kyle

Jezette and Ron
The Pre Cana marriage course allowed us to discuss many topics we would not have even thought about. It was beneficial on the discussions about money and conflict resolution; two topics that were a challenge to discuss previously. I found the entire course very enjoyable. Taking the time to put your feelings into words to share is not something we do. It was heartwarming to hear how Ron felt about me and our upcoming wedding and marriage.
The Sacrament of Marriage is sacred, and the course opened my eyes to how multifaceted marriage will be. It reinforced that God and Jesus must be at the center of every successful marriage, including ours. I am delighted to start my life with Ron and will reuse many of these discussions in the future. To other couples, I would say, it is well worth the time to get to know each other’s deep-rooted feelings. – Jezette
This exercise was very helpful, it helped me understand my future wife and myself better from a child to an adult as well as the guidance we need to have a successful marriage in the eyes of God. – Ron

Ana and Juan
Hi Rev. Frank, to formally introduce myself I am Ana. I am 27 years old and am eager to get married. I can say that this has been my dream as a little a girl and I honestly didn’t think it would ever come true until I met Juan. Ultimately what I can say is the course helped me ask myself questions I never had asked myself before and I am glad I did it. It took me way longer than expected and honestly some questions made me feel uncomfortable but in a good way. I enjoyed learning more about myself while answering the questions and I also was kind of concerned because I did not know how to go about some questions, but I just told myself I was over thinking.
I grew up Catholic but as I got older, I got busier and kind of set aside my religion. I know, I know there shouldn’t be excuses to set my beliefs aside, but I never forgot about God. I pray and I always feel him with me. Going through this experience honestly made me closer and I am excited to finally be married and complete the marriage sacrament. I’m actually really nervous because I am the first from my family to do this and in Juan’s family this is actually super normal and traditional although it is traditionally something we do as Catholics and in our culture my parents and most of my side of the family hasn’t done this so I feel special and honestly pressure.
As far as contributing to my understanding of the marriage sacrament I think overall I learned this isn’t just a ceremony, it’s something special that we hold for the rest of our lives. I also value connection a lot more, I feel the “holiness” in all of this. I truly believe that doing this sacrament will make me feel complete and safe in our marriage. It’s hard to explain. I feel this class helped me understand that this sacrament implies a lot more work than any of the one’s I’ve done.
It helped me learn more that my husband is my life partner and with him and God guiding us, we can walk through anything life throws at us. It’s a lifelong commitment of faithful love. It’s not a contract, it’s meaningful and that’s what I want to be connected by something more than a paper. What I would say to other couples who are going to complete this sacrament is to take it seriously. This is a lifelong commitment, stick by each other. This is a union designed by God to encourage, love, abide by each other while seeking God first. – Ana
This experience was extra hard for me because I struggle to communicate and express myself. What I would say to other couples is to never give up on yourself in order to be happy with the person you love. I grew up in a household where emotion wasn’t shown and sometimes it’s hard for me to show Ana how much I love her, and I thank God I was able to find someone who understands me. This journey has helped me reflect on myself and our relationship in every way possible and helped understand much more the sacrament of marriage and what it entitles. I can’t wait to start my life with Ana and be united as one through God. – Juan

Yelena and Troy
I found that the Pre-Cana brought us closer together as a couple. We really enjoyed filling out all of the files and then reading our answers after. It made us see our similarities and differences in our relationship which is important for the future. It also made us communicate on a different level that we often don’t do and hopefully going forward we will start doing that more often. It was very important for both of us to talk about all of the topics mentioned. Setting clear expectations for the future is a must, especially in marriage. I am very glad we got to do this and I feel like it really strengthened our relationship. – Yelena
This experience has been really insightful for Yelena and myself. At first we didn’t know how go about doing our Pre-Cana because we live two hours apart so us being able to do this in our own time was very beneficial to us. It was helpful to us because we didn’t realize how many unknown things go into a marriage and the discussions that need to be had. We had a lot laughs and emotional moments going through each topic and listening to each other’s answers. We realized how compatible we are going into our marriage and that just made us feel so content. I would recommend this to any couple that does have to deal with long distance or just can’t find the time to be in person. I really enjoyed this process and learning even more about fiancé and what is to come in marriage. – Troy

Micaela and Patrick
This was an amazing experience for us to dive deeper into our relationship and explore unopened doors in our future lives. It also allowed us to appreciate the sacredness of our upcoming covenant and realize the true purpose of our marriage. To other couples I would say, “Use this time seriously but have fun with it. Implement sections into your date nights!” – Patrick
We really enjoyed the course, especially the conversations we had after completing each section. The course got us talking about things that otherwise, we may have put off or brushed to the side. It allowed us to get on the same page about how we envision our married life together and how to blend our families, while staying true to ourselves and creating a family dynamic of our own.
We understand that the Sacrament of Marriage is a holy gift, and we don’t take it lightly. We will get married only once. The “Our Parents” conversation allowed us to address and set boundaries with our parents which we had been putting off. I think this will set us up for success from the start but not having blurred lines around uncomfortable topics with them. Advice for other couples: When having conversations together, we created a “safe space” where we could not judge the other person, or dispute his/her answer. It created an environment where we could speak freely, be ourselves and share truly what we desire out of marriage. – Micaela

Samantha and Michael
The experience that I got from the pre-Cana course was that communication is the biggest thing that most couples need and that we need at the core of our relationship. It’s good knowing that him and I already have that great communication skills to where we don’t argue and we don’t look at things negatively. We see eye to eye on things, and if we feel that we’re going to come up with a disagreement we always pull each other to the side and talk about the conversation with kindness and gentleness and openness with our ears and not talking over one another.
I will say that this experience is helpful because him and I linked hands for each conversation and had the 60 seconds of silent prayer, and then when we talked about things, the emotions between him and I were just so real. To know and see the emotion and the tears flowing from both of us about the things that we already know we feel from another, was great. But to enter it in the Grace that we do during each one with opening prayer and him and I both reading a Bible verse, was just something so beautiful.
I really hope that each couple that goes through this knows that this truly is a sacrament that I believe needs these types of things because without this knowledge you know your partner loves you but when you get to see the real raw emotion between you and him, it’s a lot different the way that it makes you feel internally because it’s just so much better and more committed. – Samantha
As a cradle Catholic and entering into this beautiful Sacrament of Marriage, this course really opened up my eyes to some things and conversations that got us both very emotional. Talking about topics such as NFP, our parents and future children for me got me emotional because all those things are so important and sacred. My fiancé Samantha has been such a blessing in my life and walking through this process with her has been nothing short of amazing and easy. I have no doubt that we will continue to revisit these topics as we journey towards marriage. Thank you for making this course easy and enjoyable to access. – Michael

Alex and Hugo
My experience with the pre-Cana course was very eye-opening. There are a lot of emotions and thoughts going into this moment, and this course helps provide a roadmap to document and express these feelings. Furthermore, it provides a good framework for foreseeing and resolving the inevitable disagreements that will inevitably come up. We would highly recommend this course! – Alex
I am so glad we chose this course. It has been very rewarding to do. These conversations were not new to us, but it brought to light new perspectives that we have not discussed before. It (this course) also allowed us to fully engage in the conversation, opposed to breeze through it. I would recommend this course to all my friends that plan to get married in the future! – Hugo

Alexa and Brian
I believe this course has helped me think about the future of my marriage to Brian and how we can involve God in our new life. This online course was flexible which we appreciated as we both are full-time workers and I am a student and he is also in the military. This course was well organized and the videos were very informative. The format of the Pre-Cana was easy to understand, and it made me recognize my faith in God. – Alexa
This Pre-Cana course was wonderful as it led me to the next step in my marriage while keeping God active in this journey. This course made me realize things that we have not discussed in our marriage yet and brought up challenging topics that we’ve overcome. The videos were direct and provided valuable information towards our future together. I will recommend to future couples just like my fiance and I to take this course because of the information it provided and the easy process. – Brian

Eileen and Emeka
This course has truly been a blessing to complete with Emeka. Even though I’ve always felt we communicated well, this has been an elevation in our communication and ensured we had conversations that we otherwise may not have gotten round to. I really loved how it also presented an opportunity to learn even more about Emeka and his childhood! I feel like I understand him even more. The way the questions are organized is insightful and helps to dive deeper. I found this course incredibly helpful and a game changer for marriage preparation! – Eileen
The pre-Cana course was very helpful & eye-opening. I am glad to have had the chance to participate before our wedding. I learned so much about my bride after having so many useful conversations that we otherwise may not have gotten to in the first 5 yrs of marriage. Now through those conversations healthy expectations are established and I now have a much better understanding of the person I’m about to marry & look forward to starting this journey with her & growing our love even more. – Emeka

Anna and William
This course gave us the time to grow as a couple and also to ground ourselves within our faiths together. I think the most helpful part was learning how to communicate more openly about difficult topics, especially those involving family, faith, and finances. I enjoyed the moments we set aside for prayer and reflection as well—it reminded me that our relationship is rooted in something bigger than ourselves. To other couples, I’d say this course is a valuable opportunity to sit down and reflect on some important topics before you take the leap into marriage together. Life is busy and it would be hard to find the time to have these conversations later on, so sitting down and doing it now was really helpful. – Anna
Taking this course together helped us carve out intentional time to talk about topics that we might not have thought to bring up on our own or that maybe would be a little uncomfortable to bring up. It was both helpful and enjoyable to reflect on the meaning of Marriage and how our faith can help us grow stronger together. I especially appreciated the opportunity to discuss our expectations, values, and hopes for our future. I feel more prepared for our wedding day and for having a long and supportive marriage. – William

Tabatha and Emannuel
We have completed the course and I certainly found it enjoyable. It was great to hear some of my fiancé’s answers. I even found out a couple things I didn’t know about him. It was a great way to affirm our love and commitment to each other and helped us to bond together at the same time. I don’t believe we’ve ever had such lengthy conversations about some of those topics, such as children and money. We also discovered that we’re on the same page and felt the same way about many things, including our main issues and how many children we want. I would definitely say the course was helpful.
It was the perfect way to have us both sit down together and hash out some of these topics. I do believe it has helped us understand each other better and even feel that much closer to God going into our marriage. I believe it has also helped with gaining a better understanding of how we both feel about children and how Christians have a duty to “go forth and multiply.” If I were asked, I would encourage any friend to take the course with their own fiancé or even their spouse. It’s very informative and eye-opening to hear some of your loved one’s answers, and I believe it will succeed in bringing two people closer together. -Tabatha.
The pre-Cana course I must say was quite the experience, a bit tedious but worth it. Packed with information but also extremely helpful. It was enjoyable for the experience it offered my partner and I. We got to share a few laughs, funny moments, wishes and concerns. We discussed some subject matter and issues that we were yet to face. It was an immensely helpful course because it offered understanding, provided different perspectives on some topics, and gave insights on preparation for challenges that may present themselves in the future. I would surely recommend this to other couples to allow them the opportunity to take a deeper look at their relationship and journey to offer them understanding and insight towards the future of their union. – Emmanuel

Brianna and Kyle
Thank you for this opportunity. It was very eye-opening to do this with Kyle next to me hearing him say things about me that wouldn’t be in a normal conversation or hearing him speak about our future was amazing. I definitely am happy we chose to do it online in our own home together and had the privacy to speak from our heart. – Brianna
I think this was a good opportunity to talk about things with Brianna and opened doors to conversations that we normally wouldn’t sit there and speak about. I personally liked it just being the two of us rather than a group. I would tell everyone to do it at home with their partners to have this same connection. – Kyle

Ashely and Edward
Attending the Pre-Cana course was a surprisingly enriching experience. What I found most enjoyable was that it helped provide for deep conversations with Ed that we might not have had otherwise. The sessions encouraged us to reflect on important relationship conversations, conflict resolution, family expectations, and faith. Also, hearing different couples’ stories helped us feel less alone in our challenges and questions.
One of the most helpful parts of Pre-Cana was that we both walked away with a better understanding of ourselves as individuals and as a team. For other couples preparing for marriage, I’d say this course is well worth it. Even if you think you’ve talked about everything already, Pre-Cana will help bring up new topics and give you both better understanding of each other. – Ashley
My experience with the Pre-Cana course was both meaningful and helped open our eyes. One of the most enjoyable parts was having alone time to focus on our relationship. Life can get busy, so it felt special to slow down and really invest in preparing for our marriage blessing. The course was very welcoming as a space where we could reflect on important topics like communication, expectations, intimacy, and faith. It wasn’t just lectures, and it included moments of humor, and shared stories from married couples that made the material feel real.
What I found most helpful were the deep conversations we hadn’t fully explored before. It helped us identify areas where we were strong and others where we needed to grow. For other couples, I’d say it’s a valuable opportunity to build a stronger foundation for your future together, and it provides growth that continues in life. – Edward

Jeanne and Patrick
When we were about to begin your online Pre-Cana course, my fiancé , who is almost 70 years old and having children and grandchildren already, was very reluctant and dare I say was being stubborn about going through this process, especially after seeing how comprehensive it was. He finally came around and we began to work on the exercises together. As we began to take the process more seriously and work through the exercises together as best we could as an older couple, we both found it was a very valuable experience, and I have to say very therapeutic.
As our schedules got busy, we would have to put off moving forward in the chapters for a period of time. As I would get back to completing some chapters, it oddly seemed to always be the perfect chapter to work through some stresses I had at the time. The self-reflection and humble admittance that we haven’t fully learned all the components to get the best out of our relationship even after being together for years was a great exercise. Through the program, we were able to gain knowledge of how to better work through issues as they come up and open the doors of communication better. I thank you greatly for this opportunity and found the course very valuable to prepare us for our future together. – Jeanne
After 20 years together, I felt we had talked about everything multiple times. But the CANA experience surprised me —in the best way. There was something deeply therapeutic about writing things down and discussing them in a structured, thoughtful way online. It helped me see each other with fresh eyes and appreciate how far we’ve come as a couple. We’re grateful for the space it created for real connection and gentle renewal. – Patrick

Theresa and Elliott
Thank you for providing the materials and conversation prompts in this marriage preparation course. I must admit that I came at it with a bit of a negative feeling as it was ‘another thing to do’ on my wedding checklist. However, I have completely changed my view on this as it has been so helpful and meaningful to bring our relationship back at the center of our wedding planning rather than the logistics of our wedding day. I particularly enjoyed the early conversations ‘Before we say I do’ and ‘Our Parents’ as it was a really positive reminder of what we love and appreciate about one another and how we want to show up as parents ourselves.
We have agreed as a couple that we need to make time for real conversations and to check in with one another, and I believe that is thanks to this course. I would recommend to other couples to think about the topics and to prioritize talking frankly about them as it is important to find common ground and it brings the relationship back into focus. I did not enjoy the module on natural family planning as I thought the husband in the couple was ‘mansplaining’ about the female body and her emotions. I would love to see a couple that appears more equal than they did. – Theresa
Overall, the course was thought provoking and interesting. Most of all, it reminded me that speaking with purpose is important, more so than just ‘speaking’ per se. I think it has been useful, and that I and we have grown more through doing this. – Elliot

Allison and Michael
Overall, I found this course to be very interesting and helpful. Not only were all of the resources easy to access, but the program itself was very easy to follow and complete. Fortunately for Isaac and I, we have already had most of these conversations before, but it was nice to discuss them again before our wedding. While we have had these conversations, not all of them were done in terms of the Catholic Church. It was really nice to see how God and the Church connect to our lives and future marriage in so many ways. – Allison
I am grateful for the time and space to have such enlightening and faith-driven conversations with my wife-to-be ahead of our wedding day. This is a great resource and well-structured for couples with busy schedules, trying to balance it all amidst an even busier time of their lives! The spiritual direction and insights shared are well-phrased and grounded in faith. I know that we are prepared for the spiritual undertaking of marriage and this course helped to solidify this knowledge for the both of us! – Michael

Amy and Sam
Thank you for your enlightening Pre-Cana program.
We enjoyed thoroughly working through your program together in preparation for our upcoming wedding. It was an extremely informational course. It allowed Sam and I to discuss topics deeply that we’ve only briefly discussed or have never discussed thoroughly. It was also convenient that we were able to work at our own pace to complete each activity, then plan time to discuss these topics together. We were surprised by some of each other’s responses, but the majority of the time, we were perfectly aligned on values. I feel much more connected to Sam after completing this Pre-Cana course, and I am glad we were able to have this experience to guide us in preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage. – Amy
I am not a Catholic, but I found that doing the Pre-Cana prompts and course insightful and important. It brought deep thought and conversation on very important subjects for couples about to get married. It was really nice being able to complete this process in the privacy of our own homes and on our own schedule. I would recommend this program to other engaged couples! – Sam

Brianna & Joseph
Hi Dr. Rev. Frank, I just wanted to thank you for such a helpful and meaningful pre-Cana course. My fiancé and I are so grateful we had the opportunity to sit down and go through these important conversations together. It truly opened up topics that many couples don’t always think to discuss in depth. I especially appreciated the section on celebrating anniversaries. It’s such an essential reminder for married couples to honor their relationship milestones. I actually printed that part out and plan to keep it handy for when we reach our one-year anniversary! I’m already looking forward to it.
The conversations about families and how we were raised really stood out to us. We talked about the values we each want to carry forward in raising our future children, as well as some of the habits or patterns we hope to adopt differently. It was powerful to reflect on how our upbringings shaped us. We also found that we were very much aligned when it comes to finances. Having been together for 11 years, we’ve always shared money and similar views on managing money, avoiding unnecessary debt and planning for our future. It was reassuring to see that we’re still on the same page.
Overall, this was such a valuable experience. We spent nearly four hours talking one night just reflecting and deepening our connection! It brought us even closer to each other and God than ever before! Thank you again for guiding us through such a thoughtful and engaging process. – Brianna and Joseph

Erica and Anthony
I really enjoyed taking the time to participate in this course and have important conversations with Anthony. It is crucial for us to discuss our values and beliefs to prevent conflicts in our marriage in the future. The course encouraged us to connect on a deeper level, moving beyond the everyday planning of our wedding. It helped me view marriage not just as a milestone, but as a lifelong commitment supported by God’s grace. – Erica
I really appreciated how the course balanced faith with everyday realities of married life. It was exciting to speak about these real-life topics/situations with Erica. The guided reflections encouraged us to discuss important topics that we might have otherwise overlooked. To other couples, I would say that this course is a fantastic opportunity to grow closer together and begin your marriage on a strong, faith-filled foundation. – Anthony

Marta and Arturo
I loved this experience because I had the opportunity to discuss certain topics we hadn’t discussed in depth. I also enjoyed hearing Arturo’s answers to the questions because I imagined many of them but didn’t fully understand them, and I loved hearing how beautifully he wrote them. I think this is very good for marriage because we have these questions saved and can read them from time to time and answer them again to strengthen our bond. – Marta
At first, I had some doubts about how emotionally profound this experience would be, either because of the distance or the methodology, but as I began to do the assignments and watch the videos, I realized how special it was to ask the questions and discuss them, even if it was just over a video call. We discussed topics we hadn’t touched on before, and it was wonderful to get to know my future wife better. Although I thought it was impossible to love her more, this course has shown me that the more you know someone, the more room there is to love even more strongly than before. I really like the idea of being able to look back on our responses and see our promises and how we’ve changed as people, without abandoning our foundations. I‘m sure I’m going into this marriage more prepared than ever. – Arturo
