Lisa and Joe

It was helpful because it made us reflect on parts of our relationship that we don’t always talk about in everyday life especially because we already have two children and our job schedules are opposite, so we really only have two days together. I liked how the topics pushed us to think about our future, not just in a practical way but also in terms of faith because this is new to Joe.

It strengthened my understanding of the Sacrament of Marriage and helped me feel more prepared. I would encourage other couples to go into the course with an open mind, because you really do learn a lot about yourself and your partner even if you have already been married for over a decade like us. – Lisa

Taking this course gave me the chance to slow down and really think about what marriage means on a deeper level. I appreciated the way it encouraged us to have honest conversations about things we sometimes overlook, like communication, faith, and expectations. I wasn’t ready to get married in a church when we first got married but after having children and Lisa putting them in prep, it made me want to make my confirmation and get our marriage blessed.

What I enjoyed most was how it helped me see our relationship through a spiritual lens and reminded me of the commitment we are preparing to make. I would tell other couples that the course is worth taking seriously because it helps you grow both individually and together.  God doesn’t always have a timeline and each walk with him is different.  It took me 11 years of marriage to finally decide I’m ready for this. – Joe
