I found the Pre-Cana course to be incredibly helpful in identifying ways to effectively communicate through challenging topics. It was helpful for myself to know more about Dan and his beliefs as well as how he and I share so many similar values in terms of our upbringings and how we hope to start a family incorporating those same values. Additionally, I found the program to be straightforward and easy to navigate over the course of three days. This course has allowed me to feel more confident in starting our life together as well as understand how we can continue to show our commitment to each other through love, compromise and our commitment to our faith. I would recommend that other couples find a way to enjoy the process like we did. We really enjoyed being able to connect with each other in a peaceful setting while having such in-depth, thoughtful conversations. – Melissa
I was pleasantly surprised by the Pre-Cana experience. I am not Catholic, rather I was raised Methodist. However, I found this curriculum to be a mix of religion, life and family planning, interpersonal skill development, couples counseling, and conflict resolution skills. There were many elements of this course (both the education and the individual assignments) that I didn’t expect, nor had I thought about until I was faced with these questions and prompts at this stage of my life. It’s a shame I hadn’t heard more of these types of prompts in my earlier life experience—such as in school, in my own church, in my conversations with my close family / friends—as these would be helpful exercises to explore, sooner rather than later. I found the precanaonline.com experience to be thoughtful, easy to understand, and thought provoking. I would recommend this online approach for any couple who is comfortable with this format — and be prepared to be enlightened about one’s own self! – Dan
