Dear Rev. Dr. Frank Nelson, thank you so much for guiding my fiancé, Dan, and I through Pre-Cana online. When reflecting back on our experience, we both found the course to be very convenient. We were able to have the conversations on dates that worked best with our busy schedules. This allowed for us to really bond by spending quality time together and preparing for marriage. Conversations did not feel rushed. I also enjoyed how the course prompted us to plan and follow through with important conversations. Planning a wedding is very time-consuming, and we often forget to take time to talk about our future marriage.
I found the “Issues” and “Rules for Resolving Conflicts” conversations especially helpful, because they challenged us to productively come up with solutions to our issues/conflicts together. We also felt that the structure of the course helped guide us in our conversations, making them easier to have.
Beginning and ending the conversations with readings and prayers also helped us come back to God and strengthen our love for him while also doing so for each other. Something I would say to other couples is that this course will truly help you prepare for marriage and strengthen your current relationship. – Olivia
