This course was extremely helpful for us to revisit conversations that we have had throughout the course of our relationship. I found it very enjoyable to discuss our feelings, thoughts, and values. The prompts allowed for me to feel extremely connected to Robert and to feel new in our relationship again, as we had many of these conversations in the beginning of our relationship. The course helped to deepen my understanding of the sacrament of marriage, as well as my understanding of myself and Robert.
I would tell other couples to begin this course with an open mind. It is crucial to have open, honest, and direct communication throughout a relationship. This course allows for those doors to be opened, or re-opened, and reminds us to keep God at the center of everything, including our relationships with each other. – Meg
This whole course was super helpful! Meg and I have been doing a lot of relationship work on our own both before and after deciding to get married – we’ve read interactive books together, had lots of deep conversations similar to the ones in this course, and have been going to couple’s therapy on our own for some time now. I like that this course mirrored and supported a lot of those activities, as they have been fundamental to the growth, maintenance, and closeness of our relationship. We enjoyed the talks that the course encouraged us to have and the relevant questions contained in each of the assigned conversations. As such, these conversations stimulated our minds and reinforced the sanctity and gravity of the promises that we are and will be making to one another and the importance of the Sacrament of Matrimony uniting this whole experience.
To other couples, I would say that this course requires a good deal of work, which is important, because relationships require lots of work. Therefore, having these meaningful conversations and forcing yourselves to look inward in order to be soft and vulnerable with one another, as this course encourages you to do, will always benefit your relationship and your marriage.
