I really loved taking this course! Not only did it help us understand the true meaning of marriage, but I feel it really did bring us closer together. One of my favorite parts was how this course guided us to have the difficult conversations, how to talk things out and listen to each other carefully and find a solution that works best for both of us. To always respect each other and never give up on one another.
If I could tell anything to other couples taking this course, it would be to make sure you are open and honest about everything for the best possible outcome. I would also suggest taking the course again in the future, I know we intend to. I think if married couples take this course again all throughout the marriage it will keep their marriage strong and help their connection. – Vanessa
What I found most helpful was the questions or thoughts that came about that I had not yet thought about in the first place. There were many sections that make you question, “How would I do this?” Or, “What would be the best manoeuvre for this situation?” The best part of the course is thinking of what I learned from my experiences while living with my parents. Their marriage left many examples on how to do things the right way. Their lessons on the church were profound as well. This sacrament is a shared one between man, woman, church, and God. One of the more social ones yet maybe one of the most powerful considering how many bonds are present.
This course drove home a lot of core details and values I already held dearly to my spirituality. The sections on household, children upbringing and the jobs or responsibilities parents have couldn’t have been more spot on. For future couples this course was a breeze with how open conversation was and the knowledge obtained or remembered from life lessons gathered in a Catholic upbringing. I did the courses in sections per night and found it most enjoyable to do it like class work but it’s something that I’ll reference in the future in my marriage without question. – Antonio
