This was an amazing experience for us to dive deeper into our relationship and explore unopened doors in our future lives. It also allowed us to appreciate the sacredness of our upcoming covenant and realize the true purpose of our marriage. To other couples I would say, “Use this time seriously but have fun with it. Implement sections into your date nights!” – Patrick
We really enjoyed the course, especially the conversations we had after completing each section. The course got us talking about things that otherwise, we may have put off or brushed to the side. It allowed us to get on the same page about how we envision our married life together and how to blend our families, while staying true to ourselves and creating a family dynamic of our own.
We understand that the Sacrament of Marriage is a holy gift, and we don’t take it lightly. We will get married only once. The “Our Parents” conversation allowed us to address and set boundaries with our parents which we had been putting off. I think this will set us up for success from the start but not having blurred lines around uncomfortable topics with them. Advice for other couples: When having conversations together, we created a “safe space” where we could not judge the other person, or dispute his/her answer. It created an environment where we could speak freely, be ourselves and share truly what we desire out of marriage. – Micaela
