Since we both lacked time, this course was perfect for us. It found us (ok, I made a search) just in time, when our relationship was somehow stagnant. We didn’t have any particular issues, but I felt like we weren’t progressing anywhere. When we had the first talk, I immediately knew, this course was a good decision, since I felt Holy Spirit in that talk. I felt connected to Ivan and I felt as we were in the beginning of a new part in our story.
Those topics helped me to first see myself as I am, because all my answers were completely honest. Then I could hear Ivan’s point of view and could somehow see his heart, a piece of it. That helped me to better understand his reactions on situations in our relationship, especially when we talked about our history and parents. We shared a lot of unexpected moments of laughter or crying, and I realise, that sometimes I was thinking about his or my answers even during the next week. We always made sure, that we weren’t interrupted and that we had enough time, so our conversations were relaxed and therefore deep.
We had to start organizing our time together, which was a big challenge at the beginning, and at first we had quite a quarrel. I wondered, is this really our wish or have I just forced him. This was actually my struggle, since I like to organise and be in charge and Ivan likes to leave the leading to others. But precisely those quarrels were a great starter for further conversations about roles in marriage and relationship, so at this point we paused the topics and focused on talking about our relationship in that light. I had to learn that people show excitement in different ways and that my way isn’t optimal or the only way. So in the end, I felt that we both came to know each other so much better during the process. – Miranda
Firstly, I’m happy my fiancé, Martina, shared this course as an option. It was very interesting for me, not just because of the content, but also because it was in English. What I found very helpful were all the topics included in the course. From our parents, money, faith and everything else. In the moment, you can’t think of every important topic, so this course helped to remind us.
I like how this course is structured and organized so it was very easy to understand it and to do it. Also the Bible verses were very helpful, to put perspective through God’s word. For me St. Francis’ prayer was amazing. It touched me and made me remember it. I liked also the part when we held hands and communicated our answers. It was deep and it gave us some precious time. I think this course contributed to our preparation in a way that made us think and talk about some stuff more. Even to find secret difficulties. Not just that but it also gave us an example of how we can solve together any difficulty and make a plan. Again, very happy being part of it. – Ivan
